    StarSan rinsers?

I was scared of the foam for a long time my self. Until about 4 batches ago where I said screw it and just did it. I have to say I did not see any negative effects. As a matter of fact I think my beer actualy fermented more vigorously than most of my other batches. On top of that I can't taste...

American Barleywine AG - Water Into Barleywine

I have to agree, I'm drinking my extract barley wine right now and (not to sound conceited) I'm loving it. I think it's one of the best beers I've ever had. Even before I started brewing I was a bit of a beer snob so this isn't coming form a swill drinker either, I know good beer. Not to mention...

    Planning first AG

I'm already using Promash so temps should be pretty easy to calculate with that. Can you calibrate it? Also have you seen any cheap turkey fryer kits around town anywhere?

    Planning first AG

That's one of the items that I will need to pick up along with a burner. I have my eye on one at my LHBS but I'm going to look around to see what I can find that may be cheaper.

    Dry-Hemping

Hey I sent you a PM. I'd rather not publish any detailed info in public because not only is it somewhat inappropriate but it's also both legally and very physically dangerous information.

American Barleywine Red Kettle Big Bad Barley Wine

I didn't have any problem with stuck fermentation at all but I made a 3 liter starter with 2 packages of yeast.

    Planning first AG

I like SNIPA. I like beer period so cant say I have a favorite. I like the hop-monsters, but I can also appreciate a good Pilsner or Lager too . Some of my favorites lately are Rogue Brutal Bitter, Nut Brown Ale, and Lagunitas IPA, and Censored. I was thinking about a Chimay Blue Clone...

    Planning first AG

So I'm planning to do my very first AG beer here in the next couple weeks and I was thinking about Edworts Bee Cave Brewery Haus Pale Ale. I thought this would be a great beer to get my feet wet in AG with. It seems like a fairly easy and to the point recipe, but does anyone have any...

    Inline Digital Water Temp Probe

Anyone ever try one of these on the outlet of a CFC? If so I'd be interested to hear what the results were like, or if anyone has any recommendations for an alternative that would work.

    Dry-Hemping

Alcohol is one of the ways to make hash oil. You steep your dried herb in alcohol overnight and then strain out the vegetable matter and use heat to evaporate off the alchol. You can even use 99% rubbing alcohol since you are going evaporate it off anyway. The other way is a butane extraction...

    Barley Wine is ruining me.

Over the last few days I have started drinking my finished barley wine. At first the flavor was like wonderful slap on the taste buds from the beer gods, it was love at first taste. But after drinking it for a few days the flavor doesn't seem as intense. I'm worried that I'm getting used to all...

Hand me down 5 gal bucket?

I'm gonna give Oxyclean a shot in the buckets I have. I need to pick some up for the swing tops I just got on CL anyway. I also stumbled across this idea for removing skunk smell. I figure if it can handle skunk it should be able to handle food smells. If the oxyclean doesn't work I might try it.

    Craigslist SCORE!!

That's an awesome deal and worth the drive. I would have snatched that up in a heart beat. Although I guess if you're a kegger it's not as appealing.

    Craigslist SCORE!!

I just want to say that I love craigslist . . . . let me rephrase that I have a love hate relationship with it. Despite all the flakes and overpriced garbage on there, every once in a while a good score comes along that makes all that hassle worth it. Today I got a case of BROWN (except for one...

Help - should I buy this starter kit?

+1 on the kit fromm Midwest. I started with it and I am still using it. It's the most bang for your buck that I've found and I looked at a lot of different kits before deciding on that one. As everyone has said the $300 kit is overkill for a beginner.
