    Tower of Power question

Not exactly an electric brewing question, but figured this section would probably be the best place to ask. I've been using the Tower of Power to heat and maintain temps in my HLT for a while now. I've recently upgraded my HLT to one that has a 4" thermowell though. I'm afraid the short...

    Florida Huna DAY 2017

No thread for Huna day yet? I'm sitting at a dead stop on I75 on my way to Tampa as I type this. Who else is gonna be around this week?

    Extreme heat tolerant yeast strain

Bare with me here, I know I have hardly no details, hopefully someone else remembers this though and can help me out... Read a story a year or two back about someone in Europe (I want to say Holland, but I may be making that up.) Had isolated a yeast strain that was performing remarkably...

    California San Marcos/Cardiff advice needed

I have a thread going about a road trip I'm about to make (https://www.homebrewtalk.com/showthread.php?t=598628) But have re-thought some things and decided to change my route. I'm cutting out vegas and instead going a little further south in Cali to get a few more brewery stops in. The main...

Road trip advice request for those out west

For starters, I have ever been west of the Mississippi except for basic training in Oklahoma. A friend recently bought an old Ford truck in Portland and its actually cheaper for him to fly me out there and drive it back across the country than it is for him to ship it. So, I get a cross...

Florida Tampa folks, I'm looking to "snow-bird" this winter

I currently live in Virginia, I despise winter, and I have family in Tampa... common sense says I should move down there this winter and see how it goes! I do irrigation for a living right now so we pretty much shut down at the end of November until mid march or so. Which is what brings me...

    Mini fridge options

Had a friend ask me to help them get a mini-fridge kegerator set-up as a father's day gift. I've got a chest keezer and therefore have never looked into mini-fridge options. Is there a thread with recommended models and such like there is for chest freezers? Looking for a cheap option to...

    Vittle Vault Fermenters

I know there are a few threads out there but didn't want to resurrect an old dead one. I'm wondering how these would fair for long term sour aging? Being stack able would save a lot of room for stuff aging for a year or more. What do the sizes (30, 40, 50lb) translate to in terms of volume...

    Wineberries

Anyone have any of these on their property they want to get rid of? Looking for 5-10lbs of them.

    Looking for some bugs

Looking for a pitch of something along the lines of ECY bug country. If anyone has a vial they'd like to sell me it'd be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Autolysis in 100% Barrel Fermented RIS?

Planning to fill a Jack Barrel (yes a full size Jack Daniel's Barrel) with an ~1.100 RIS. I'd like to ferment it in the barrel 100% with 1968 (ESB) and age for 9-12 months. How can I pull this off without autolysis from sitting on the yeast so long?

    Re-carb question...

Sooo,I brewed what I think is my best beer to date by a LONG shot. A "Coconut Rum, Chocolate, Russian Imperial Stout." Bottled it off from the keg and did so with a bad batch of caps. Everyone one of them is flat as can be. Not yet oxidized so wondering if its worth the shot to crack them...

    Bargain Fittings Contact

Had an issue with an order through BargainFittings (completely USPS's fault, not theirs.) I've been having trouble trying to contact them though. I've used the contact form on their site a couple times now with no response, anyone have a direct email by chance? Kinda hard to make calls during...

    A few quick questions

I brewed a "lambic" of sort about 3 months ago and racked it on a cake from a Tart of Darkness clone (which turned out amazing.) Its just beginning to get some tartness to it now. A friend wants me to brew up a sour for their wedding and I'd like to use the same bugs on that. Which brings me...

    Virginia FS: Barley Crusher Mill

Barley crusher w/ 7lb hopper for sale, they aren't the best mills out there but if you take care of it and keep it clean it gets the job done for sure, I'd keep it but decided to upgrade to a Crankandstein. $80+ shipping or local pickup in Central VA.
