I guess the problem is more of aesthetics issue rather than a functional one. I can live with it not fitting perfectly.

I have several corny kegs which are a bit on the older side. They still perform as expected but the rubber collars are slowly breaking down; when lifting the kegs, my hands end up black from the rubber. Is there a product that can seal the rubber?

Good point but I use conicals for more controlled fermentations and brew buckets for simple fermentations. I just can't get my head around why I would spend the incremental money to gain features I already have with the conicals. However saying this, I would bet I'll buy one in the coming months.
