    So who's brewing this weekend?

First time my company has observed MLK day, so I am getting back on the horse after not brewing for a few months. Simple IPA grain bill with Bru-1, Citra and Sabro with New England East Coast yeast. Rather cool day in Florida, so really nice day to be outside brewing. Enjoy the day everyone!

    What brewery are you visiting?

We usually hit the St Pete/Tampa area about 2-3 times a year as well. The Keys are wonderful, but the drive is long and it is mad expensive there!

Spent the holiday visiting the Florida Keys. Islamorada Brewing and Florida Keys Brewing were awesome stops, great outside areas.

    Danby Kegerator Temp Control Issue

I have an old Danby kegerator and the temp control just went crazy and I ended up with a frozen keg. I read some old forum posts about getting an external temp control and the Anvil Temp Controller has fixed that issue. My question is, does anyone have a work around for the kegerator turning on...

What NA Beer are you drinking now? And what NA beers are you liking?

My Dad had a stroke last year and now can only drink NA because of his meds. We have been trying different NA beers and, for him, O'Douls is his go to now. As a Coors light drinker, I think this one gets close to what he is used to. He also likes the Athletic stuff. I will have him try and find...

Buying grain mill vs buying crushed grains

I have 2 HB shops in my town. The crush from both is wildly different, so having a mill allows me to have consistent crushes. I don't mind the extra time and any time I get to break my power drill out is a bonus.

Who’s still brewing Belgian-style ales and what’s your favorite recipe?

We get some 7th Sun stuff in Orlando and I do stop in when I am on that coast. Otherwise, my local place Bowigens, does a Triple and Saison in the summer. Still not enough!

Who’s still brewing Belgian-style ales and what’s your favorite recipe?

So great to see a thread on Belgians! I love to make Saisons and Tripels. Before Kviek, there were no wide temperature range yeasts to really use except Belgians and living in Florida didn't afford me much choices. I have temp control now, but I still love to do a saison and throw some 3711 or...

    Favorite Beers

Awesome! Tons of great beer on that side of the bay. Green Bench is my fave, plus you have Cycle, Avid, and St Pete to name a few. Enjoy!

    Favorite Beers

The Jai Low is awesome as well, as is all of the core CCB beers. I have been lucky, I met those guys just as they were opening the brewery and have seen them grow exponentially over the years. It is a must stop any time you are in Tampa.

    Favorite Beers

I tend to drink uber local, but I am finding Capt Lawrence really good right now and all over Orlando. German lagers are awesome pool beers. 1. Cigar City Jai Alai (all purpose beer) 2. Captain Lawrence Citra Dreams (golf beer) 3. DAB (summer time pool beer)

Looking for advice on a recipe for something like TBBCs Reef Donkey or MIAs Mega Mix

I think the Mega Mix with a fruity Kviek strain would be really good. Let us know how it turns out!

Looking for advice on a recipe for something like TBBCs Reef Donkey or MIAs Mega Mix

I have had both and I think there is a bit more bitterness with Reef Donkey. Maybe an ounce of Chinook at 60 would give the right bitterness. Mega Mix is definitely big fruitiness, I do think a 10 minute addition would help with a little added bitterness. What yeast are you planning to use? I...

    Hazy IPA with lager yeast?

I have 2 IPL's on tap right now, one with 34/70 and another with S-23. I fermented the 34/70 at 58-60 and it has Azzaca and Strata hops. Really nice and clean. The S-23 I fermented at 52 to keep down the fruitiness. This one has HBC 586 and Talus and the hops really pop. I would totally try a...

    Ever Dumped a Brew? Regrets?

After brewing for years, I got my first infection and lost 2 batches. I had to go through everything and found that my chiller had something growing in it. Rookie mistake! Infection got to my kegerator, so after thoroughly cleaning the chiller and buying all new lines for the kegerator I am...

Looking for some good Kveik Recipes

I have been making IPA's mostly with a couple of different Kviek's lately, how is every ones clarity? Mine all come out hazy, not that I mind.Just wondered about everyone else.

    Belgian Inspired Ales

Then I think you could ferment them warmer, 75-78 and that would give you some character. A nice blonde recipe with some 550 or T-58 fermented at 75 would give it some character and be a nice session beer. Wish I could try the Taxman stuff, sounds good.
