    Haha, note to self don't add starsan to secondary. Thanks for the airlock tip. I am going to try the washcloth thing on my next batch. As for this batch am going to play with it but I think it my be to far gone.

    and know what may have caused it? after cold crashing for a couple of days I open my fermentation chamber to a 1-2" translucent layer on top of the beer. it kind of looks like when the ice melts in your coke and all the water moves to the top.
