    A Brewing Water Chemistry Primer

The Water Panel from NHC 2012 is posted on the "Let's Brew" section of the AHA site under "Homebrewing Seminars". It's a members only resource. I believe this link will only work if you are logged in...

    Product warning

I've hit the trigger on mine before installing it and not had a problem. Wonder if it was a defective ball lock fitting. The ball lock should be able to take the full force of the co2 right? Is this the one made by Genuine Innovations? I also have one of their bicycle tire inflaters and use it...

    Advice on Turkey Fryers

I got a SS one at Sam's Club. The burner stand and pot are SS and the pot is quite large, 7 or so gallons. The burner has a ring around the top in which a keggle 'just' fits with a little force. I'm using the stock pot as a HLT.

Can you keg without a refrigerator? (plus another question)

Now this is what I'm talking about! 2.5 gal corny with a ball lock tap and a little cartridge for dispensing. I could fit this in the beer fridge (or a friends for poker night which is what I want). But way over priced. I'll have to try to make my own...

Can you keg without a refrigerator? (plus another question)

What is the minimum equipment needed to use Kegs? I was thinking along the lines of priming for carbonation and using just a tube with a picnic tap and some sort of small pellet-gun-size co2 canister to dispense it. Maybe set up a homemade draft box to cool it down if not cold enough. Will yeast...

    Stamping/Marking Stainless Steel?

I'm needing to mark some gallon gradations on my new SS boil kettle and was wondering the best way to go about it. I have a spring-loaded punch and the gauge isn't very heavy so I think that should work... My main concern is if doing this will cause the SS to rust from the stress. Any metal...

    Mikey likes it!

Hey guys, I got a nice SS Turkey Fryer for Christmas from Sam's. SunJoy makes it. Burner, stand, everything is SS. It's 34 qts I believe. I installed a Weld-B-Gone spigot in it and ended up having to cut a small slot in the big (thick) ring that goes around the burner (keeps the pot from sliding...

Kent Place Software releases BeerAlchemy for the Mac

What are you guys waiting on? Tiger rocks! Spotlight search, Dashboard... Come on, Steve needs the money! So far so good on the demo. The GUI is sort of like iTunes. You have a main library and can make Groups (aka Playlists) to help separate them into categories. It has a huge list of...

Kent Place Software releases BeerAlchemy for the Mac

http://www.kentplacesoftware.com/products/BeerAlchemy.html Finally, a ProMash-like program for the Mac!!! The FREE Demo is fully functional for 30 days or 7 launches. Full version costs $29.95 and requires OS 10.4.x (Tiger). I've not used ProMash, so I can't really compare the two, but so far...

    Favorite Oktoberfest Beer?

I went in to my local bottle store that carries a good selection of craft brews and imports to get some O'fest last week. Luck would have it, they were having a O'fest tasting! They had 6 or 7 there, including most mentioned here (except Beck's I think), and I liked the Goose Island the best and...
