I started with Mr. Beer too. It'll turn out alright. I don't recall any of my Mr. Beer batches going to waste!! Cheers.

So happy my first all grain turned out well. Made an American Pale Ale with fresh cascade hops. Turned out so good.

Thanks. I was able to filter them all out when pouring into fermenting bucket. I'm hoping since it's a double IPA that the hops will override any burnt extract flavors.
It's started boiling an IPA and noticed black chips floating in the wort. I have a stainless steel kettle so it shouldn't be that. Could it be burnt extract or corn sugar? Regardless, should I pitch it now?
I brewed a batch of imperial blonde ale last night and got tired of waiting for the wort to cool to 70 degrees. When I poured it in the fermenter it was about 80 degrees when I pitched the yeast. Did I ruin it by pitching at too high a temperature?
