    OLD LME...pitch it...or pitch with it?

    I've been given a case of Mr. Beer LME from 2001. As I finished looking through the case and was lining them up for the trash can, it occurred to me I may be able to use them for my yeast starters. Bad idea? My gut says pitch it in the trash but I thought I would ask ya'll! Thanks!

    Finally broke a carboy...

    I just killed my 6.5, it was the first carboy I bought back in 1996 when I picked up the hobby back in San Diego. She will be missed... Collateral damage. At the very least I need 4 stitches probably 5 but its 11pm, I've been drinking, and crazy glue and kleenex made for a fine...

    New batch on yeast cake

    Any reason not to pitch another batch on my yeast cake. How tired and wore out you think this yeast really is? It is a stalled Cote de Blanc re-pitched with Safale T-33. Nice steady ferment, nice flavor. Recipe was 3 gallons store bought, 3 cans concentrate, 2 lbs brown sugar OG 1.068

    I have 4 recipes that I have collected here and there, and wanted to see what you all felt was the better of the bunch. I'm itching to try and brew me some Aventinus! I think I want to follow the BYO all grain except that I thought I read that Weissbier et. all used a vienna malt, guessing...
