    I brewed a IPA this Sunday, pitched the yeast starter and then set the beer in a nice its usual spot to ferment 66-68 degrees. Woke up and the air lock was bubbling nicley.     Recipe

    Thinking of a extract IPA, here are the hop I currently have. Plan on using some to dry hop. Any suggestions on a schedule for 5 gallons and a 2.5 gallon boil. 2oz Perle 2oz Cascade 2oz centennial 8lb LME 1# 60L Crystal .7# 80L Crystal Hops schedule? Thanks

    Hydro reading-best way?

    I currently have a ale in the primary (plastic bucket) and want to get a hydo reading to see how fermentation is progressing. What is the best way to do this? I hate the idea of opening it up and exposing it to anything.

    Score!!

    Was in MI this weekend and scored a bunch of Stone (Pale Ale,IPA,Ruination, and The Bastard) they do not distribute in Chicago. Already started on the Pale Ale and IPA, will wait a few days on the others.

    Carbonation question

    How long until my beer will carbonate? I bottled my IPA on the 1st and opened one yesterday to sample, and while the taste was ok the level of carbonation was almost zero. The botte did have a small amount of sediment at the bottom. I know the rule of thumb is 2 weeks...but I wanted to taste...
