    Permeate pump location

Got it all installed tonight. And everything seems to be rolling away. Thanks for all your help. A note, I'm honestly not sure what everyone's problem with the Aquatec 1000 is. Yes it ticks, but you have to actually listen for it. I'm happy so far. We'll see how it helps with efficiency to the...

    Permeate pump location

So So is the orange tubing the flow restrictor? If so, I would just remove The orange tubing, put a small piece of extra tubing (or the elbow you linked) on the Y coming from the RO brine out, to the permeate pump in, permeate pump out, orange tubing, then to the other Y?

    Permeate pump location

Hello Russ, thanks for chiming in. This is actually one of your setups that I recently purchased from you. I was going to buy the pump from you and the high pressure ASV, but I must have been viewing it on Amazon, added it to the cart, then my wife must made another order and left it in the...

    Permeate pump location

Correct, I'm very certain there is a metering office/filter in the orange tube. So basically cut the yellow tube before the manual flush system, brine out of the membrane to the in on the pump, out of pump to the manual flush. Kinda like my crude drawing? Imagine the yellow box is the pump, top...

    Permeate pump location

Yes sorry, I should have been a bit more descriptive. I used my phone to type the first post and it was kind hard to read what I had written. I do have a 14 gallon pressure tank. I figured I would give the permeate pump a shot, being it's so cheap. I feel the best option is tie into the...

    Permeate pump location

Hello, I recently got my RO system all dialed in and realized a permeate pump might be helpful for me. Basically, I'm on a so water pressure does fluctuate and I'm feeding a 14 gallon tank. I figured a permeate pump with help decrease the time to refill the tank after consuming it for a brew...

    Mash pH question

My Ca is 83.1 via my water test. How do you know how much you dropped the alkalinity after boiling?

    Mash pH question

I'm sorry, I might have misread the post. I got the wort cooled to about 90° when I checked the pH and saw 2.9.

    Mash pH question

Mash temps, so 150°. About 350. I know it's high, but just trying to use my water and see how it goes before going RO.

    Mash pH question

Hello all, I have a question regarding mash pH. I brewed my first beer with water adjustments yesterday. But I have a few questions on my pH test during the mash. First I'll say I'm on well water, and my alkalinity is high, so I'm adjusting using a 85% Phosphoric acid. Using Brun water I found...

Boil kettle condenser - no overhead ventilation needed

Well, I just finished with my first brew session with the steam slayer. I have it soldered the the side of my kettle, and then draining to my catch drain for my HVAC. It worked flawlessly. And, I'm honestly so impressed, and can't wait to brew again. I used to brew in my garage, I've since...

Boil kettle condenser - no overhead ventilation needed

I'm just waiting for this item to come back in stock from Bobby. I would have pieced this together from other sources, but I have a gift card balance I would like to use on this item. Hopefully, this is in stock soon. Want to get back to brewing.

    Show your BIAB Stand/Set up

Here's my updated BIAB stand. I used to have a stand I made out of 4x4s, and a old desk. I moved recently, and decided to start brewing in the basement, instead of the garage. I still need to either make a top for a laptop, or I'll hang a monitor on the wall, and use a desktop. I would...

My Brewery... laundry mud room build

Yeah, you're best bet is to be completely incompetent when it comes to laundry. Then, it's never expected of you. :) It looks like you have a similar washer/dryer to ours, I just mess around with the settings and goof them up. And, I'm removed from the space. For some reason, she's never...

My Brewery... laundry mud room build

I think he means it would have been a good thing for it to be on the same circuit. So, now since you'll be in that room, why not do a few loads of laundry while you're in there. :)

Boil kettle condenser - no overhead ventilation needed

What are you guys using as a "seal" between the kettle cover and kettle? Or is the vacuum strong enough that one isn't needed?

Boil kettle condenser - no overhead ventilation needed

The name is a dead give-away but so is it being a crawfish as well. :) Yeah, I thought about the size of the holes being the issue. I contacted Arborfab, we'll see what they say. Worst case scenario is I do a whirlpool. I appreciate your heads up on this idea.
