I hate to bring up an old zombie thread, but this one right here just saved me a lot of frustration and head scratching. For the life of me I could net get this thing apart. Just so you know you cant get the probe out until the handle is removed. Do like cscade says and once it is tapped...
You should be fine. It may dry out a bit more than you expected, but... In the end it will still be beer and you can chalk it up as a learning experience!
Why has no one mentioned the obvious here? I know what the OP is looking for, and quite honestly most of us new brewers have fallen victim to it, getting too excited to quick. I made the same mistake. When I first started out I thought I could do anything I wanted, the result? I almost quit...
When you use the left over spigot from your MLT and various other O rings from your brew box to replace the leaky spigot on your sun tea jar. Took three tries using different O rings but that suckers tight now!
Yeah, I checked, that was the first thing I thought of, maybe I screwed up, however that was not the case.
I did email them, more from the standpoint of not wanting anyone else to come across it. We shall see, just wanted to get others feedback.
I have been a member of this forum for quite a while and yet I hardly ever post. However this morning I came across something that I wanted to ask about.
Has anyone had issues with MoreBeer's website? I have never used MoreBeer before but I have really started to like the idea since they...
Hello all, I found an old thread that kind of answers my question but is back form the middle of 2009 so I thought that I would ask again.
I am heading to Vegas here at the end of the week and was just wondering if any of you knew of any good brewpubs or beer bars down in Vegas. I have heard...
Sure, you posted this more than a few months ago, but I am glad that there is a least one Donkey State fan here. How do you feel now that you have had a few days to let the pain die down? As for me, well lets just say that I love that Nevada broke that 24 game streak! Oh and did you happen to...
Thanks for the info guys, I knew this was the right place. ;)
I do have one other question. I have been reading that the "krausen" on wine can get a little out of hand. I am sure that I will be ok, but do you all think that doing the primary of this 3 gallon batch in a 5 gallon carboy will...
Hello all,
So I have decided that after a few successful years of brewing beer I thought that I would try my hand at wine. I am pretty sure that I can figure out the process and have already done a fair amount of reading on the subject.
I have decided to try out the Cellar Craft Orange...
Yeah, frisky indeed!
With everything else that I need to do on the weekends, kids/wife/house and what not, 2 batches is pushing it for me. I can't imagine doing 4.
I didn't think that it was going to feel as good as it did, but I brewed up 2 batches yesterday. The first time brewing in a year. Damn, that felt good!
Sorry to toot my own horn, but I had to tell someone!
whatisitgoodfor, I had the same thing happen to one of my beers. It was so strange, but it was the high ferment temp that caused it in my case as well. In fact I think I may have posted something very similar to what you did. Just chalk it up as a learning experience.
I know what you mean, i just finished off four of them that a friend left at the house last night. This was damn fine beer, I may have to pick up a case the next time I am in the bottle shop.
