Specialty IPA: Red IPA SIMPLE Imperial Amber Ale

This is tasty; reminds me of a barley wine. Great recipe, just not quite what I was expecting.

Adding strawberry to 'Leffe Blonde' clone?

Forgot to update this. I went all out; 4lb of frozen quartered strawberries into a bucket and racked on top. Left for 10 days. Best brew yet. Everyone loved it, it didn't last long, and the only other brewer that sampled it did it the following week. Highly recommend. It was not overly...

Too malty of a stout, can I fix it?

Thanks for the input. I had a NB Spring Blonde and just mixed that 50/50 with my stout and it turned out pretty good. What would you recommend for making a mini-batch? How mini are we talking and would it have to ferment or could I do like a steeping or boil process, chill it, and add it...

Too malty of a stout, can I fix it?

About 2wks ago, I kegged a stout that I brewed. It was originally a Murphy's clone recipe from BYO, but I mixed up the buckets of LME with another recipe I was doing and wound up putting in 7-lbs instead of 4. Upon having a few, it is incredibly too malty. What could I possibly do after it...

    Hard Cider Yeast question.

I know this is an old thread, but I was wondering if you could expand on the nitrogen reduction theory. :)

    Brewers sugar vs Honey

Honey makes for a smoother mouth-feel though, does it not? (I'm still learning)

    Fridge keeps freezing beer/cider

Cheap fix: STC-1000. I have a 50s style vintage fridge that is crazy sporadic, but about $40 for all supplies for a regulated temperature, and this fridge is awesome! I was going to link you, but just search for STC-1000, there's tons of write-ups and DIYs for it, just browse them and see...

Oops! Sorry, forgot that's not beer! :mug:

One of many moments of complete idiocy...

I had the same thing happen to my first Subliminator Doppelbock (first lager I did). My fridge is vintage and not quite the most consistent... temp controller was well worth the investment after that screw up! haha

Using juice instead of water for making beer...

I'm in for some answers... I've been thinking the same.

Why the f#$% does my beer's flavor change???

What does the flavor change from and to? They will evolve through the fermentation process because the yeast is doing it's thing, but as far as the malty notes being completely gone and the hope aroma/flavor being gone... I don't have the slightest clue that would cause that except some wild...
