    Yeast recommendations please

I think the two most recommended were 1272 and 1335. We got 10g for the shop - pitched 5g with 1203 - Burton IPA, and the other 5g will be pitched with 1335 British II later today (we wanted our starter to bulk up). Still thinking about dry hop options - any one have any thoughts?

    AHA Rally and Wort giveaway

Did not see this until today....sorry! As you noticed - lots of homebrew being shared despite the legal status. Good to see you there! We had a blast and it seemed everyone else did as well. We've got 5g of the wort pitched with 1203 Burton IPA yeast and the other 5g will be pitched with 1335...

    AHA Rally and Wort giveaway

I'll be there with the Midwest Supplies crew. We have a special deal for the event where you get a 6 gallon PET fermentor w/bung and airlock for $20. We will also have a sanitizing station set up so that everyone can give their fermentor a sanitizer rinse when they drop it off to be filled. And...

    Wide Mouth Glass Fermentor

The lid has a smaller opening that takes either a 5.5 drilled stopper with a traditional airlock, or there is an included 'airlock cap' (not sure how else to describe it) that threads onto the small opening. Then you put some liquid directly in the lid and that becomes your air lock. It is a...

Edelmetall BRU Burner from Northern Brewer

I like the leg mod you did there...using the stubby legs in addition to the extensions. I am going to copy you for sure! Probably a nice stability gain?

Great write-up and thanks for the pics! I need to make it up there sometime and check it out in person.

Beer Faucet: How much wobble is normal?

What serving psi are you using with 18' lines? Seems like a lot of length. I have 6' 3/16" lines and can usually balance it out so I get good pours at around 10 psi. But to the original poster....sounds like you are missing o-rings (I couldn't load the video on my phone). Most lhbs should have...

    Efficiency from MoreBeer milled grain

I have learned while working at a HBS that getting brewers to agree on an ideal crush is near impossible. Some like cracked, some like crushed, and like the weather it could always be better.

Add CO2 Ball Lock to Outside of Collar of Keezer

Ooo....I like that mini pass-through. Good call!

Add CO2 Ball Lock to Outside of Collar of Keezer

Or even cheaper - just do a barbed tail piece, and clamp your hoses on. But then you lose the easy disconnect ability that you would have with ball lock or swivel nut connections.

Add CO2 Ball Lock to Outside of Collar of Keezer

http://www.midwestsupplies.com/pass-through-shank.html plus http://www.midwestsupplies.com/1-4-stainless-mfl-tail-piece.html plus neoprene washers and hex nuts/wing nuts plus the cornelius plug adapter mentioned above, then your ball lock posts. But that whole assembly would put you in the ball...

Add CO2 Ball Lock to Outside of Collar of Keezer

Do you need the ball lock connection - or are you just looking to get your CO2 through the collar with sealed connections? You could pretty easily use a pass-through shank with either barbed tail pieces (or MFL tail pieces with swivel nuts) for quite a bit cheaper than all the parts you'd need...

    What does your LHBS charge?

At the Midwest retail store that recipe would cost you $35.01. $31.51 if you are in a brew club or AHA. In store only of course; shipping would add some.
