drilled holes on keggle too big

Added a copper fitting around the coupling, soldered it all together and it worked great! Brewed up 5 gallons yesterday outside in a snowstorm and lost zero degrees during the mash with two blankets wrapped around the keggle, couldn't e happier with the build

drilled holes on keggle too big

I drilled my keggle holes a little too big, and i highly doubt i can get a bead of solder in the gap. I'm thinking of soldering a ss washer to my coupling, and then soldering the new piece into the hole. Does anyone have experience with this? I'm really hoping not to have to scrap this keg and...

    keggle chiller

Just curious, the lids have all been boiled several times and are showing a little rust, do you think oxiclean would make them "food safe" again?

    All grain equipment

Don't really need the hot liquor tank in that kit yet, like above if you've got the money go for it but you can do your mash and sparge water in the kettle you already have

    All grain equipment

Well before diving right into all grain with a 3 vessel set up, you can start with biab. I made my first 3 all grain beers in a 30 qt turkey fryer with a 5 dollar voile curtain i picked up from target. The curtains are made from nylon and do not react to heat. You can start this way. many BIAB...

    keggle welding back purge

I'm building my keggle for biab use, and don't have much experience in welding but live right next to a shop where they'll let me use their equipment. From what i've surmised on these forums i need to set up a back purging rig to prevent sugaring on the welds. I know this shop has a tig welder...

actually yes! my swmbo collects mason jars so ive got a ton lying around. I'm going to try that as im installing a spigot on my keggle so that should work really well. i'll post back after my next brew day and tell you how it went.

    false bottom dip tube question

This may seem like a stupid question, but i'm planning my false bottom and dip tube build for my keggle. I'm wondering how one goes about unscrewing the dip tube when the false bottom is installed? I'm going to use a 15" pizza pan and drill holes for the bottom, but the dip tube i was going to...

    keggle chiller

i like the let it sit overnight idea but i've heard that putting a lid on the wort while it cools can produce off flavors from the drippings. any truth to this you think?

    keggle chiller

Just finished my keggle build, but after buying all the fittings and a new banjo burner, i'm pretty tapped out. Instead of buying a wort chiller before brewing my next batch, im considering using my old stock pot as an immersion chiller filled with ice water. Anyone else doing this? has it posed...

    biab keggle basket size???

cool, my only concern is scorching the bag when heating during the mash. I don't plan on recirc or having a hlt, and the 20 lbs was just a maximum count, because i plan on doing some big beers down the road. also, the batch ill be doing soon is going to be a lager type beer and im wondering what...

    biab keggle basket size???

i'm new to all grain brewing and i just bought all the fittings to build my first keggle. i plan on doing 5 gallon biab batches and want to use a steamer basket to avoid all headaches with a torn or burnt bag. im wondering what steamer baksets other people are using for keggles? should i even...
