    80 qt (20 gallon) vs 60 qt (15 gallon)

I'm purchasing my primary brew kettle and have settled on a Concord SS pot. Amazon has both 80 and 60 qt versions for around the same price. I plan on 5 gallon batches with the possibility of moving on to 10 gallon batches in the future. 10 gallon batches would be way down the line I imagine...

Buying a brew kettle for all grain batches

I am in the market for a brew kettle for all grain batches. I want the capability to do ten gallon batches but I plan on 5-6 gallon batches primarily. I will spend money to get something that will last. Suggestions please. Sent from my iPhone using Home Brew

    1.084 pitch rate question

I'm brewing a double IPA with an estimated original gravity of 1.084. I'm of the opinion that one package of Safale 05 is not enough. My question is.... Is two packages too much? Will I be over-pitching if I use two rehydrated packages if Safale 05? Sent from my iPhone using Home Brew

    Home grown nugget

I have grown some nugget hops. I want to formulate an ipa recipe using these as the bittering hops. How should I calculate the alpha acids on a hop that will not be lab tested? Sent from my iPhone using Home Brew

Should I rack to a secondary?

It's my first go at brewing and the recipe calls for a secondary fermentation. My problem is that when I brewed I only had a 5 gallon carboy so that's where the primary is taking place. I went out and purchased a 6.5 gallon carboy because in the future I want to be able to primary in that and...
