    Wisconsin Keezer/ Kegerator

14 cu ft. Kegorator/ Keezer. It is currently set up with 3 perlick stainless steel faucets, all Shanks and connections are stainless steel, 5' CO2 lines, 10' beer lines. Also included is a 20lb CO2 tank, Johnson Control, which has operated flawlessly, keeping my beer at 38° to 41°. I also rigged...

    New Keezer, Semper Fi!

Long process, from brew day to drink day with kegorator build in between! I am very happy with the way things turned out and did it with a lot of help from people on HBT! Kegorator is awesome, NO leaks what so ever in c02 or beer lines. Temp w/ Johnson control holding at 38-41, serving psi at...

Force carbing in a couple of minutes!

Thanks Yooper, I do have a couple of days and now I'm seriously considering that method because I want the least chance of foam and cloudiness! Makes sense, the beer has been setting for 1 1/2 days in keezer at 38 to 40 degrees so muck should be settled, why stir it up. There shouldn't be much...

Force carbing in a couple of minutes!

Yes, guys and gals, like I said, I'm a newbie at kegging. Everything has gone great with the keezer build and the 3 batches of homebrew, mentioned below. As you all know, how much time goes in to this process from brew day to drink day and it would be absolutely heart breaking to dork things up...

Force carbing in a couple of minutes!

First time kegging. Lots of great info and opinions on how to force carb, I think I'm gonna settle on what seems to be a common method, 30psi, gently roll back and forth 15-20 times and listen for co2 releasing, when it stops repeat for 5-6 min session, place back in keezer and wait for a few...

    Good staring temp setting?

Thanks Juan for the advice and info! Like I said, first time kegger and I don't know any better as far as the dangling probe. I will attach it to a bottle of water. Would it also help, if I fill the cooler with cases of beer or a couple of carboys filled with water just to help fill the empty...

    Good staring temp setting?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the way I understood other posters throughout various threads, is I do NOT wrap, insulate or tape probe to anything because all I want to know, is what the air temp is in keezer. What I did, was drill a hole in back of collar, jusssst big enough for probe, then I...

    Good staring temp setting?

First time kegging. Keg build completed. Hopefully kegging all 3 batches, currently fermenting, tonight. Question is, what is a good or average setting on Johnson dig. Control. Not fermenting right now, just being used as keg storage/ server. I like cold beer. Set it at 38° before bed to test...

    Which Freezer?

abarnett pretty much layed it out nicely! I chose chest for the reasons he stated plus, I was thinking it would be a hassle moving kegs and hoses to get to the empty keg in the back of an upright! As far as foot prints, I'd be more concerned with home brew flatulance!

    Attaching wood to Keezer?

Thanks for the advice. I think I will try to spray paint it one more time. I did take it to a local body shop, the owner was awesome. He didn't think it was as bad as I described, thought it just didn't have enough paint on it. He could even tell exactly how I painted it, spray motions/ strokes...

    Attaching wood to Keezer?

All was going good, 3 beers resting comfortably in secondary, keezer collar attached, sealed, squared, perfectly, lid couldn't be anymore flush, then I tried spray painting it myself. Needless to say, it looks like crap! I have some really neat USMC decor to dress this thing up nice but I can...

To seal or not to seal?

Thanks! Might as well seal, I've got some poly and it isn't going to slow things down.

To seal or not to seal?

Is it necessary to seal the inside part of the keezer collar with polyurethane etc.? The out side will be painted or sealed for sure!

    Wood for keezer collar?

Any particular wood to stay away from, other than plys, pressed or OSB? Would green treated pine be OK as long as it's sealed or painted? The outside may even have a clean, knot free, face put on it, painted for sure though. Just happened to have some that's nice and dry.

Pulling the trigger on Keg Kit but!

I'm starting to lean towards erring on the side of caution and getting kit sent w/ 10 ft lines. I figure with the $$$ I'll have invested at that pt what's a few bucks more in line. I can always cut back. I don't like to later be saying "I wish I would've"! Scored on new never used Maytag 14.8...
