I know this is an old thread, but has anybody used one of these in a 20 gallon Blichmann pot with the boilcoil? It seems like the legs would be right where the coil goes.

Something that I do which helps prevent mistakes like you made on your brewing salts spreadsheet.. make and save one sheet with all your local water info, then never modify that. When it's time to brew, open the base sheet then save it under whatever you're brewing that day and modify that...

It won't ever explode, there's no oxygen in the line from the tank to the burner.

Blichman makes a Tower of Power especially for this if you don't want to go the DIY route. You set a temp and it ramps to/maintains the temp for you, it's $$$ tho.

They seem to be quite a bit more expensive than the 1G, but I would take them in a heartbeat. They actually have level markings on them now.

I have the 60 qt version of that. Are you reusing the inside seal that came installed in the cooler? I used that plus some washers, a 1/2 MPT-1/2 MPT, a ball valve and a 1/2 FPT coupler. I had to make it TIGHT to not leak. If you wont have the stock seal, I don't know how you would do it.

It's a threaded probe and a 4 pin cable that disconnects on both sides for the temp probe. Then there's a single wire for the igniter for the gas setup.
