So it is Mailard Malt Dark LME. From Northern Brewers site - Maillard Malts® Dark malt syrup is a blend of pale malt with some caramel 60, Munich, and black malt.

Has anyone used these hops in any capacity? If so, can you shed more light on them. I have found a few websites, but nothing goes into detail. Thanks Sent from my iPhone using Home Brew

    Crisp MO vs Crisp pale

I have another thread that isn't quite clarifying this up in my recipe. Is Crisp MO different than Crisp Pale malt? Or are they essentially the same thing and should I just use one instead of splitting the 2?

    Southern/northern Brown

That's the rumor on the street. I'll drop it by at least half.

    Southern/northern Brown

So should I just get MO and not bother with the British pale? I thought by going this way, I'd cut back a bit on the maltiness? Am I wrong?
  17. DrZym802

    Southern/northern Brown

No...I assumed (i guess my bad) that MO would be a smidge maltier. Am i wrong? should i just go with all Marris and not sweat british pale?

    Southern/northern Brown

Going to skim 10 oz off and try that

    Southern/northern Brown

The OG will be fine. I had made this in the past and for some reason I missed a # of MO and a # of pale. So it came out as a session brown per se. I'm adding 2oz more chocolate and the reg molasses is to replace sorghum molasses (not extract) from last time.
