Ideas On Improving My Beer Kit-In-A-Box

Thanks Yoop! I had a feeling the LME being hopped was the fly in the ointment. I think I will increase the volume of the boil and then stir in the extract(s). Any suggestions on the timing of the hops additions?

    Reusing bottles

I experimented with capping a twist off bottle once. Result: Broken bottle AND broken bottle capper. Stick with the pop offs, you can't go wrong.

Ideas On Improving My Beer Kit-In-A-Box

I am a noob brewer who got hooked early this year. Seriously hooked. For my 6th batch I decided to try a mail-order kit in a box from True Brew (an Irish Stout). All my previous brews have been made with LHBS ingredients and I have enjoyed them immensely. They have all been 60 min 3 gallon...

What's the best lhbs in SoCal? La/oc

I second South Bay Brewing Supply. Friendly, knowledgeable staff. Didn't try to upsell me a bunch of gadgets and trinkets I didn't need. And they always seem willing to give advice and tips for the new (and perhaps overzealous!) first-time brewer.

Thanks for the heads up, I just might do that. That is, after all, where I purchased my equipment today. Can't wait to get started!

    So Cal Noobie

Well, after weeks and weeks of research and deliberation I finally took the plunge! I went down to my LHBS and purchased my first kit. Just the basics but still everything I need to brew my first batch. Thanks to everyone on this site for helping me get started. Here goes nothin'!
