    Temperature

    I just put it in a fridge, hoping to keep it down. I'm brewing a BB summer ale kit w lemon zest. I used the included us-05 dry yeast. Temp was at 75ish for about 6 days. Am I screwed?

    Carboy to bottling bucket

    How do I transfer from my carboy to the bottling bucket? Siphon? A hard tube with a black cap at the end came with my kit, looks like its to avoid traveling trub- but it's curved and won't reach the bottom of my carboy. I also don't have a pump, any tips on the best way to start the siphoning?

    When to move to secondary

    Can I use my bottling bucket as a secondary after 2 - 3 weeks in the primary? Then add sugars & bottle straight from that same bucket without another transfer?

    Popped the top

    Thank you! I'm obsessed. I'm going to do my first bunch of brews in primary only, then try a secondary after I get the basics down. If I have this problem again I'll switch to a blow off, as my ceiling is still spotty. I plan to let the primary be for 3 weeks then bottle. Can't wait for batch #2.

    So every brewer I've conversed with has at least one story about finding their airlock across the room... Which happened to me the Monday (day 2) after brewing my first batch ever, BB Irish stout. The bottom of the lock got clogged- I cleared it, re santized and moved the carboy into a spare...
