EZ Water Calculator - ppm calculations accurate?

The solution in case someone else looks this up: most of these compounds are actually hydrates despite how they're named on the spreadsheet, likely for simplicity. https://chemistry.boisestate.edu/richardbanks/inorganic/common_names.htm

EZ Water Calculator - ppm calculations accurate?

I've been attempting to add calculations for Potassium Chloride and total Potassium ppm to the EZ Water Calculator and I've been using the existing calculations on the spreadsheet as a reference. Doing this I came across some an odd result: the existing calculations don't line up with what I...

    Kronenbourg Blanc clone attempt...

I did. It didn't turn out as I wanted. I'd make the following changes for next time: - Slightly more pils, less wheat - Move the 5 minute addition to the 60 minute addition. - More orange peel - Slightly less coriander - Use a different yeast - the taste was wrong. I might try to culture it...

    Saison Cottage House Saison

Brewed this 2 weeks ago with a few modifications: Willamette instad of Fuggles and WLP565 yeast. Stole a sample for hydrometer testing yesterday. Holy Damn! This may very well be one of the best beers I've ever brewed. I can't wait to keg this. Thank you for the recipe.

Hey all, I am looking to get a clone of Kronenbourg Blanc. If anyone has ever tried this and come close I would love your input on this recipe. Using the following as a base profile: http://libatious.com/beers/kronenbourg-1664-blanc 5lbs Pilsner 4lbs Wheat Malt 1lb Flaked Wheat .5oz...

Feedback: Wheat IPA w/ Ghost pepper ("Casper")

Take a bite from the pepper itself? No. I'm not sure that would be a wise idea. I've had it in several sauces and marinades, as well as in several snacks. Potent stuff, but very interesting like you said. I am assuming the smokey flavour comes from roasting it. I do love the heat though...

Feedback: Wheat IPA w/ Ghost pepper ("Casper")

Sadly that's all I have on hand until my large hop order comes in, hopefully next week. I think I'll just brew it as a regular Wheat IPA and section off 1 gallon and try the pepper. No use wasting the whole batch if it goes wrong.

Feedback: Wheat IPA w/ Ghost pepper ("Casper")

Thanks guys. For the non-pepper guys out there, I'd still like some feedback on the hop schedule...

Feedback: Wheat IPA w/ Ghost pepper ("Casper")

Looking for some feedback on the grain bill and hop additions for this little experiment. I'm quite new to brewing and this is one of the first real recipes I've put together, so any feedback is appreciated. The goal here is to make a flavourful Wheat IPA with a hint of ghost pepper...

    Grain got wet. Still good?

Thanks! I ended up doing this and it seems to have dried out well. I'll brew it in the next few weeks and we'll see what happens. My guess is it'll still make beer.

    Grain got wet. Still good?

Pretty much this. I've stopped trying to make sense of it.

    Grain got wet. Still good?

It smells fine now that it's dry. I am brewing right now but not that batch. Although I suppose that now I have an excuse to make the batch ASAP! Thanks. If anyone has any differing opinions, please weigh in.

    Grain got wet. Still good?

So my wife managed to soak some of my grain... I'm guessing for less than 15 minutes or so. I managed to get it back and let it air dry but I was wondering if this is still usable? Normally I'd just toss it, but she grabbed a handful of a pre-mixed recipe which means about 12lbs of grain...

American Pale Ale The Electric APA

After having this sit in the bottles for just over a week, I found a flaw with this recipe: The beer seems to magically disappear. I just started drinking it a few days ago and a quarter of the batch is gone. Fantastic recipe. Everyone who's tried it can't believe it's home made. This will...

American Pale Ale The Electric APA

Just drank a sample of this before dry hopping it tonight (was at 1.014 after 8 days) and damn is it tasty! Can't wait for the final product. It actually tastes (and looks! -- and smells!) VERY similar to the 512 IPA from 512 Brewing, except very toned down hop-wise obviously. I imagine if we...

American Pale Ale The Electric APA

Did this as my first AG batch tonight! I way underestimated my efficiency... OG hit 1.062. Luckily I had extra cooled water to top off at the end, brought it to 1.056 exactly. Smells amazing so far.
