    DIY Beer Line Cleaner

I just learned this at my LHBS. They we tried 4 different liquid posts, and one of them worked. They're ordering me a Firestone which should be in on Monday or tuesday. I'll report back to confirm it all works.

In Secondary for Months -- Need new yeast to bottle?

I have an extract brew that I planned to cold crash and bottle back in June. Well, I cold crashed it... and it's been sitting @ ~45°F in my mini fridge ever since. I've hit the "paralyzed by uncertainty" point and am afraid to bottle it. Is my yeast dead? Did it drop out? Can I mix in...

    Brewery names--what's your story?

Been thinking about adding a name to the brewing operation me and the SWMBO, so far I've come up with two; Big Oak Brewing Company -- Named after the giant oak tree in our front yard Dutch Irish Brewery -- I'm of Irish descent, and she's of Dutch.

Which really bums me out. I have a Whiskey Barrel Stout I was really excited about entering into tonight's extract competition. :(

    CO2 on Long Island

Can you, or anyone, please confirm this location? I found a place called Island Soda in Holtsville not Holbrook, but it's not on the same road. I also found a Long Island Soda Systems in Patchogue, but again, completely different road. I got my hands on a 20lb for $10 but I need to get it...

Who is brewing on Long Island?

Karp's is a great place... I just really, really hate Larkfield road. I can feel myself tensing up just thinking about driving to Karp's.

Connecting two minis together for ferm chamber

https://www.homebrewtalk.com/f51/side-side-refers-394216/ Reposting what I said there: That being said, if your dead one and your new one are the same model, you can do exploratory on the dead one to see where the lines are. Otherwise... I'd be hesitant to do it.

    Good deal?

Ah, good catch. Didn't realize it was a sale. I should probably jump on that then. It's about $20 less than I've seen elsewhere... but I'm still learning where to look. I'm not in a rush, I still need a CO2 setup, so slow shipping vs fast shipping really doesn't matter to me. I'm just looking...

    Good deal?

I picked up an Edgestar KC2000 second hand from someone in my brewclub a few weeks back. I'm slowly buying what I need to start kegging and serving my homebrew. I came across this http://www.amazon.com/dp/B004RL6ZSY/?tag=skimlinks_replacement-20 At $144.99 seems like a good price. Thoughts?

    Video game tap handles?

There is a long thread on tap handles here: https://www.homebrewtalk.com/f51/diy-tap-handle-33455/ In it is a Bullet Bill handle: https://www.homebrewtalk.com/f51/diy-tap-handle-33455/index30.html#post3597884 and a Pirana Plant handle...

    Side-by-side refers?

DISCLAIMER: I haven't built a kegerator, but I've been researching doing so soon. From what I've read in the various Kegerator build threads here cutting into the side is a VERY risky procedure. While some units have no cooling lines in the top they ALL have lines in the side. Cutting or even...

Fridge Models for Simple Kegerator Conversion?

For least amount of effort you're probably looking at something like the Edgestar BR2000. It's just like the Edgestar KC2000 Kegerator, holes all pre-drilled with plugs if you want to use it as just a fridge. It comes with none of the hardware of the Kegerator so you pick your own taps and...

    Dual-Tap Kegerator - suggestions?

Long shot that you'll see this... I have a line on one of these used for $200. It looks like a good idea, and I'll likely get it, but I can't find anything about it's power consumption. Considering I'm on Long Island and we pay ridiculous energy rates, I need to be aware of these things when...

    Kickstarter: Condzella Hops Farm

There is a new-ish Hop farm on Long Island that is trying to Amp up production. They want to bring New York back to the forefront of Hop Production in the US, but need help. They have enough land, but they need the equipment to harvest it all in a timely manner. They have a kickstarter up to...

    Hoptron Brewtique

Just spotted this... Hopton is awesome. They're a little pricey for their bottles to take home, but they have specials almost every day of the week for growlers and/or drinking at the bar. Even non-special pricing is awesome. Their homebrew supplies are reasonably priced, even cheaper for some...

Who is brewing on Long Island?

Please do! There is usually drink specials or a special beer on tap (sometimes on cask) directly from a local brewery for the meeting. First half hour or so is socializing, next half hour to an hour is the meeting itself followed by a demonstration (not every meeting has a Demo) then more...
