    what was the temp you were reading at the top VS. the bottom? How are you mashing, you said it was stainless steel pot. Is the water you are mashing with heated in the same pot or do you add it in from a a hot liquor tank?

    Correct me if i am wrong, yes you can molasses but you wouldn't really want to use an adjunct like that to up the gravity. You should be using either some DME or LME added it to the boil. i also agree with comer

    I agree with bdgrizzle, there is always a higher chance of oxidation with hot wort. Is there anyway you can use an ice bath with the chiller or even better how about a counter flow? I try to move the wort as little as possible till it is about 75degrees.

    @Mojo_wire That is kind of what i was thinking i would run into that with this project. That is why i wanted to see what you guys thought. Other than the counter flow that i have now, what kinds of cooling methods would you recommend that can be be as efficient?

    Yeah i was honestly thinking taking an automotive radiator and e-fan assembly, just hard wiring it.
