I got a kit of the month club as a gift. This months kit is an "Aussie light ale". Seems kinda blah and I want to pep it up a bit. I may steep some Clementines in a 1/2 gallon of water and add it but was also curious what corn sugAr will contribute? Is it just to boost ABV?

Just got a kit delivered from Midwest supply and the package was partially crushed and the smack pack has been activated. Any ideas on how long I can wait to pitch the yeast after it's been activated? The package hasn't swelled completely so I'm guessing it happened recently?
I have 2nd year cascade, Willamette and Mt. hood. Each plant has 6-10 bines poking out the longest being maybe 5-6inches long. How long does everyone generally let the bines grow before cutting them back to the 3 or 4 strongest bines?

Looks like I may have forgot to top up my last brew to 5 1/4 gallons before sealing up my primary. Transferred yesterday and noticed I'm short. Probably a bit under 4 3/4 gallons and my ABV is heavy about .45%. Does anyone see any issues with topping off to 5 gallons with some sterile water...
After almost a year and a half brewing I Made my first yeast starter Saturday to pitch into my Hefe Brew yesterday. Man did it take off! Within 7 hours of pitching I had vigorous activity coming from my blow off tube!

So I was gifted a flask for my bday so I can start making yeast starters. Unfortunately I wanted a 2000ml I got a 1000ml. I've received my yeast starter education via YouTube and everyone seems to do it in 2000ml. I'm assuming I just half the DME and water for a smaller vessel? Any advice...

I'm thinking of using gelatin finings to clear my next batch. I read this can take up to two weeks. Is that right? If so, has anyone put them in their secondary?? Do they have to go in the keg while it's cold?

I'm looking to put together a stir plate so I can begin using yeast starters. Picked up this fan from work and apparently its 115 volts. Is this too much fan?? I don't have much more than absolute basic understanding of electrical and voltage
How long does yeast last in the fridge? Specifically Wyeast 1010. I bought it in July....just pitched yesterday at 70 degrees. 24 hours later no action?
