Hi all, I have the following leftover hops from a brew class I taught. I don't brew hoppy beers generally so what do you hop heads recommend I brew to use as mush of these as possible in one beer? A.A.% in brackets and all whole leaf. Thanks for any and all suggestions. 1 oz Goldings...

BrewShuffle.com - Home brew swap website

Where did it go...? I have a few concerns with this concept, which might explain it unpopularity and where it has gone. In addition to the logistics of swapping home brew with strangers, I personally would not want go to much effort to swap my beer and get some crap in return. I have to drink...

Yeast starter OK after 1 week at 70°F?

Its all in the title...but to expand, I made yeast starter of US-05 and didn't brew and didn't have room in fridge long term so I just left it at room temp (foil cap). Will it still be OK? I'm thinking it should be fine, just decant off the liquid right? Cheers.

    Weihenstephaner Korbinian recipe anyone?

Here is picture of my version of this. It turned out close, but no cigar..! Any comments/suggestions welcomed. Ayup! The original, at least the one I bought - which I am assuming not to be oxidized or bad in any other way, had more body, sweetness and fruity flavours. I tried mine against...

Dark english mild ale grain bill critique

I just did 5 G of a dark ruby mild with 90% MO, 8% crystal 80 an 2% chocolate malt. Bittering hops were 1 oz fuggles, flavour hops 0.5 oz goldings for 15 mins. Fermented with a vial of English ale yeast WLP002 at 68 and bottled with a few points of gravity to go for an authentic bottle...

Belgian Dark Strong Ale Rochefort 8 clone (as close as you can get)!

I heat y strike water about 25F over what beer smith tells me. My cooler mash run takes it down about 10 and the grains absorb the rest, 15, which is more than beer smith usually calculates. Always aim on the high side because its easier to cool down than heat up. Same with mash out water. And...

    Fruit Beer Raspberry Belgian Ale

I started opening my Raspberry Belgian Ale about a week ago....tastes delicious. Went down well with Thanksgiving dinner. Had many compliments such as "best fruit beer ever had". It's got a nice real (not fake extract) raspberry flavour initially which subsides to leave a dry tartish...

Oatmeal Stout Dwarven Warrior Oatmeal Stout

Here is a pint of my ChocolOATe Stout. This is 1 week in bottle and tastes great already and is moderately carbed so far... Wife did a blind side-by-side tasting against a well known commercial Porter (I know, different to a Stout - but not by much and not that wife can discern) and mine came...

Oatmeal Stout Dwarven Warrior Oatmeal Stout

So, I brewed this 4 days ago. Had to make some on the spot modification at the LHBS. They recommended not toasting my own oats because they need 1-2 weeks to off gas so as to not impart potential off flavours. So I just doubled up on the flaked oats and added some victory malt for toasty/nutty...

Oatmeal Stout Dwarven Warrior Oatmeal Stout

Just a thought mystic, would raspberries go well with this or blackberries? I have a bunch left from summer and was thinking I could add one or the other to a gallon or two of this...thoughts? Cheers.

Oatmeal Stout Dwarven Warrior Oatmeal Stout

Hey Mysticmead, few questions before I do this next week. Im just trying to figure out your main grains bill....I think it is 1lb flaked oats, 1lb toasted flaked oats and 1lb malted oats and 8lbs of 2-row is that right?? How did your latest version turn out compared to the others, was there any...
