I hope it's not a new trend. I have a buddy that does a Black and Tan with Guinness and cider. He swears by them, so my wife ordered one a few weeks ago when we we're all out together. One sip and I wanted to throw up. A waste of good beer AND good cider. I guess it's an acquired taste...
Mine doesn't usually build up thick creosote-like gunk. Usually, it's a paper thin film of residue that eventually peels off like paint. I just break off any loose pieces before using the smoker.
Bought some Balvenie 14 Caribbean barrel after hearing about the brand here. Okay, that's some good Scotch. Smooth as can be and great flavor. Of course, my wallet is still reeling from the price tag. Ouch!!
