does the Co2 have to be cold?

The freezer I will be using to build a keezer will fit 4 cornies perectly. I will just have to build a collar. I plan on keeping the CO2 on the outside and running a hose through the collar. Then I got to thnking, will the warm co2 effect the cold beer? Does the co2 have to be refrigerated also?

    Craigslist score

I saw an ad on Craigslist where this guy was selling beer equipment. I went to his house tonight to pick up a cornie keg. He had 2 kegs but was going to keep the one, he ended up selling both to me. I left with 2 cornie kegs, with the connectors and a case of 12-16 oz flip top bottles, all for...

Do brass faucets and shanks have to be chrome plated?

Well the heading pretty much somes it all. I know that faucets and shanks are either brass or stainless with the brass ones being chrome plated. Do the brass ones have to be chrome plated or can the shanks and faucets be made of bare brass? The reason I am asking is because I was going to make...

How many coolers are needed for all grain?

I eventually would like to go all grain but not ready yet. I am confused though because all of the set ups I have seen, they all had two coolers converted into mash and lauter tuns. Now I just watched Yuris videos and he only has one cooler. I dont understand what the two coolers are for. So how...

    Overdue fermentation?

I brewed a Belgian Wit a few weeks ago, actually it was three weeks ago yesterday. The directions said to let it ferment for 10 to 14 days and then to bottle. It has now been 22 days and there is still activity in the airlock, about one bubble every minute. What would cause it to take so long to...

How do you attach your collar to freezer chest?

Well the title is pretty much self explanatory. Those of you with freezer chests converted into keezers, do you mechanically fasten the collar in anyway or is it just held in place with caulk? I figure I can utilize the holes in the back where the hinges were attached but not sure about the...

I'm in the process of building a beermeister out of an old freezer chest. It will fit 4 Cornys perfectly although I only have two for now. I purchased a used bermeister setup, Co2 bottle, faucet, hoses and tap. My wifes grandfather used to own a beer distributor and I have a box of his old taps...

    Doing a 5 gallon boil instead of 2 1/2

Since I started brewing(its only been a year), I've been doing partial boils with extract kits. I have since received a turkey fryer and was thinking about boiling 5 gallons with a kit. If I have read correctly, a 5 gallon boil will give me better hopps utilization, am I correct? I figure I will...

    cleaning an immersion chiller

I purchased a used immersion chiller. It has a bit of tarnish on it and I was wondering what is the best way to clean it? I know that putting it in the wort for the last 15 minutes of the boil will do it but I would rather clean the tarnish off first.

    Will a 20 0z Co2 work in place of a 5 lb bottle?

Ok, so I'm building a kegerator out of an old freezer chest. Right now I am assembling all the components I will need. I just received a Co2 tank, regulator and tap set up. The regulator only has one gauge and I called a local disributor to see about adding a second gauge so I can monitor the...

    Co2 regulator question

What is the difference between a single gauge regulator and a dual guage regulator? I am assuming that a dual gauge regulator has a gauge that reads the pressure in the tank and a gauge to read the pressure exiting the tank? Does a single gauge read the pressure inside the tank or exiting the...

I have the oppurtunity to obtain a kegging set up. I already have a small freezer chest that I was going to convert to a kegerator in the future but do not have the time in the near future.
