What extract kit to brew next?

NB's Chinook IPA was the first kit that I was really happy with. I use the recipe as a starting point for things that I assemble myself now. :mug:

    Smelly Primary Fermenter

If your cleaning/sanitization practices are sound, don't worry about it. I was concerned about the same thing at first, but over 15 batches in the same hop-smelling fermenter, and no problems. I've heard that leaving it in the sun may help with the lingering aroma, but just keep in mind that...

Best Book to read about Home Brew?

This one always gets ignored, but it's a great book: Homebrewing For Dummies by Marty Nachel. (Of course, musn't forget: "You, Yes You! Stand Still Laddie!! Palmer's book, Palmer's book, Palmer's book...) :mug:

Brewing next weekend for first time...someone check me!

I have never kegged, so I'll leave that part alone. I would advise a few things: Add the majority of your gold extract in the last few minutes of the boil, your color and flavor will benefit by doing so. Also, do not be impatient with the primary fermentation. Leave it in there until...

    Uncarbonated beer on purpose?

A co-worker wit esophogeal cancer had surgery that made the distance from his mouth to his stomach quite small, and can no longer tolerate carbonated anything. Twisted Tea works for him.

    Cleaning a Plastic Fermenting Bucket

My first fermentation bucket has smelled like hops ever since I first used it. after a dozen uses, it still smells like hops. (It's wonderful.) I have had absolutely zero problems as a result of this. Don't worry. I've heard that leaving the bucket in the sun can remove the aroma, but I've never...

    When to carbonate?

I've never used them, so apologies for the speculation; but I'd guess that if it isn't beer, it goes in first. That's my guess, anyway. Beer goes in last.

should i call an ambulance of have another beer?

What about a good old fashioned blood-letting? You can RDWHAHB while the procedure is taking place, and at the same time, decide if it's working or not. That should help you leisurely determine if you should have gone to the ER hours ago.
