    2nd batch, very frustrated.

Okay I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong here but I'm screwing something up. I'm having the same exact problem as I had with my first batch. I took my time and followed the instructions on my kit very carefully. When the wort was done I added it to my fermentation bucket and added water to bring...

    Keg cleaning

The keg kit I bought has the hose preconected to the regulator to the point where I would have to destroy and replace connector that's holding the hose on. If I ran water down the hose and into the regulator would it hurt anything?

    What are you drinking now?

Had a Heavy Sea's Loose Cannon on tap last night. I was shocked when I saw it on the menu. Probably one of my favorites, I've never been a huge IPA guy but there is just something about the flavor of the loose cannon that I love.

    Thank you, much appreciated!

Gravity hasn't changed in a week?

Just thought I'd share with everyone that I gave the brew just a gentle stir for about a minute and within minutes I had bubble activity :-) fingers crossed.

    CO2 vs CO2/Nitrogen mix

So if I'm understanding you correctly I'll just need straight CO2. Anyone know if "food grade" CO2 is a real thing?

    CO2 vs CO2/Nitrogen mix

Ok so i've had to do a bit of digging to find a place near me that does CO2 fills for my new kegging system. I found a place near by that sells what they call "Beer Gas" which they say is a CO2/Nitrogen mix. I was wondering what are the pro's and con's of a CO2/Nitrogen mix and is there anything...

Gravity hasn't changed in a week?

Thanks for the ideas all, This is an extract kit btw. Should I try and buy the same yeast that came with the kit? I think next time i'm going to keep it in the primary the whole time and see if this changes anything. I'll be honest i'm kind of nervous about stirring my beer up.. I may keg this...

Gravity hasn't changed in a week?

Bump.. Anyone know if I'm able to recharge this?

Gravity hasn't changed in a week?

I'm wondering if there is a way to recharge it or something? I'm sitting at only about 3.8% ABV a bit far from the 5-5.5% I should be at. Good idea btw..I think I'll just keep my next Ale in the primary the whole time.

Gravity hasn't changed in a week?

Ok so I'm making a Dunkel. It spent a week in the primary fermenter, I took a gravity reading which was at about 1.020 from the OG of 1.049. It's been sitting in the secondary for another week now. I took another gravity today and it seems to be sitting still at 1.020. This is my first batch...

    What are you drinking now?

I'm not too far from the brewery and surprisingly this is the first time I've tried them, I've heard nothing but bad things about Raging ***** so I'll have to give one of those a go. Magic Hat #9 on tap is one of my favorites, I love apricot finish it has.

    So who's brewing this weekend?

I'll be cleaning my new keg this weekend which should be here tomorrow (Fedex delivers on Saturdays according to the tracking?) and I'll be running to the local brew shop for keg lube and more cleaner. I'll be kegging my first Dunkel the following weekend if the gravity readings are good.

    Keg vs bottles

I think the biggest plus is simply being able to drink your beer sooner. No bottle conditioning. On top of that its much more easy to do. You don't have to clean, fill, and cap 50+ bottles.

    WitBier- Secondary fermentation?

Ok so I'm about to start my second kit here in a few weeks. I love Blue Moon so I figured why not go for a WitBier kit. Every time I've had a Blue Moon though it's been what I was describe as fairly cloudy. Lighter in color but still hard to see through. So that got me thinking...should I...

    Noob kegging question

Thanks, I understand now. This certainly isn’t brain surgery but clearly I’ve never done this before. I'm big on asking a question when I don't know something and I’m never afraid to admit when I don't have a clue what I’m doing, hence the thread name Noob Kegging Question. I'm a computer...

    Noob kegging question

That's news to me, good to know though. I always thought it would just keep the flow at 12 psi. This is a very new hobby to me so I appreciate the help. Thank you.
