    Kegging Carbonation

I'm a fast carb guy and I chill for 24 hours then set to 30 psi and roll rot five minutes. After that let it sit for an hour, burp the keg, reset to serving pressure and enjoy. Just to be clear I have over carved when rolling for more than five minutes., but if you use a timer you will be good.

I'll admit it is buggy, but the fixes are in the works. No one who home brews is too cheap to shell out the money for this app and none of us is so non OCD either. Truth be told we home brew because we aren't like the masses and are picky, especially when it comes to beer. I have both apps...

Unpopped packet in wyeast slap pack ?

Didn't realize there was two separate packets in there. I was always told to smack it like it owed you money. Hope it turns out alright for you.

quick but not too quick carbonation

Basil, I'm the odd one out here. I keg at room temp and burp the keg with 10 psi then put it straight in the kegerator at about 33 degrees for 24 hours. Next day I put 30 psi on and roll for no more than 5 mins. After that I let it sit for an hour then purge. Lastly I put it to serving...

What do you do with all your beer?

Could not have said it better myself!

New to kegging, anything I should know

There are different thoughts on force carbonating, so find what works for you. I am one who after closing the lid and purging off the leftover air with 10 psi puts the keg in the kegerator without the co2 bottle to chill for 24 hours. After that I put 30 on the keg and roll back and forth for...

    Competent Wort Chiller

That's a great idea, but I'm still worried about gunk left in the plate chiller.

    Military brewer

Coronado is a bit far for a weekend brew club, but the next time I get on a flat top I may look you up.

    Whats your typical rotation?

I'm looking for a good saison recipe as my first one didn't hit the mark. I'm not ready to give up on the style, so any advise is appreciated.

Are there any other military brewers in the Lemoore CA area?

    Trubble. Please help.

I suspect that whatever you are using to clean your equipment is still left. I use oxiclean and hot water with a rinse. Then cold water and star san.

    Whats your typical rotation?

I'm all over the place. I like making an Irish beer for St Paddy's day, a strawberry wheat when the strawberry stand opens next to the house, and a dark then light from one brew to the next. I have yet to make a lager, but will give it a go eventually.

    Competent Wort Chiller

I remember reading a thread on hear asking of how to get something out and some said to bake. Others were debating over some caustic compound. At that point I opted for an immersion. Not trying to scare anyone off the plate chiller buy, but just putting out food for thought on what I have...

    grain mill

My brew buddy has a barley crusher and I opted for the monster. I used his while I saved up for my monster, now his is broke and he has ordered a monster. Like it what was said above, but nice or twice. I recommend buying from monster directly.

    Competent Wort Chiller

I was dead set on getting a plate chiller until I heard of problems with sanitizing them. Not knowing if something residual is trapped inside worry a me.

    Competent Wort Chiller

I am quite happy with the one I purchased from Midwest. It is a stainless steel model and has yet to leak at all. I put a new rubber gasket in it when it came. My record so far is to take from boiling to 80F in 90 seconds with stirring. Last batch was 5 mins, but my ground water temp was a...

    force carb

Refilling is nice, but you will want to find out how long your tank will be certified. I think there is a stamp on them for a set period of time that allows you to refill. That's why I would look at having one as a deposit for the exchange. This way you will not be disappointed when they...

Do you have a welding supply store close to you? As far as human grade co2, I'm not sure what that is about. Everyone I know uses the stuff that they sell at the welding supply stores. Hope this helps.
