HOWTO - Make a BrewPi Fermentation Controller For Cheap

Oh and back to your non-relay related scrambling... I don't necessarily understand what would be causing that issue. It seems to me that this all comes from sensitivity of the LCD to electrical noise, of which a lot is apparently created from the coil relays when they open. Is there possibly a...

HOWTO - Make a BrewPi Fermentation Controller For Cheap

Did you find that info in a data sheet or can you actually see them on the relay? I bought cheap 2-channel relays that are arguably a Sainsmart clone I'm wondering if I can look to see if they are there, maybe I can add them to the circuit if they are not. I've found SSRs for $4 a piece but...

HOWTO - Make a BrewPi Fermentation Controller For Cheap

Are they an easy swap out? I haven't looked into them at all but I would have to fix 3 separate controllers so if it's a PITA I think I can deal with the scrambling for now.

HOWTO - Make a BrewPi Fermentation Controller For Cheap

A lot of us have had issues with garbled screens but only AFTER the relays were triggered during a BrewPi profile run. I'm not sure if there was a solution to it yet. If there is, I still need one! Try the attached diagram instead of the schematic. The schematic may be correct but because the...

HOWTO - Make a BrewPi Fermentation Controller For Cheap

I would humbly suggest that next time you create a working system on your card, that you image it on your PC for future use! It's happened to me too many times to count with RaspberryPints and eventually I just imaged the card to cut my re-install time down to about 20 minutes.

If you head over to the BrewPi Wiki at http://diybrewpi.wikia.com/wiki/DIYBrewPi_Wikia and check out the article I wrote for multiple chamber control you might find what you are missing.

HOWTO - Make a BrewPi Fermentation Controller For Cheap

Love Love Love Microcenter... They had the new Pi 2's for sale for $30, so naturally I bought 2... Now I have 4 Pi's and a very disgruntled wife... Also, if your patient (I'm not.) banggood.com has Dupont wires for crazy cheap, as well as pretty much everything else you need. Basically...

As he said, yes. You can just set the mode to "Fridge Constant".

HOWTO - Make a BrewPi Fermentation Controller For Cheap

I bought really long Ethernet cables, cut off one end and solder to the sensors. Then I put two Ethernet jacks in my project box that hook up to the Arduino so I now have a removable sensor. A cheap and easy way to lengthen the cables! Not sure of your location but where I am, a free working...

HOWTO - Make a BrewPi Fermentation Controller For Cheap

Ok, Wikia Page was created, just have a few edits to make. For some reason it runs extremely slow on my PC but who knows what that's about... Here is a link to the Instructable as well if anyone is a member over there... And if you are, I have free 3 month Pro codes to give out if anyone is...

Sounds good, when I get a chance, I'll write it up. Beats going to three or four separate pages for all the info!

    How To: BrewPi LCD Add-On

Totally know what you mean, since I struggled with the same issue in the RPints thread as well... I'm considering putting something together for Instructables, since they are a bit more user friendly; especially one for multiple chamber set ups...

HOWTO - Make a BrewPi Fermentation Controller For Cheap

Thanks to everyone who has made this thread a great resource, especially FuzzeWuzze of course! Just finished my 3 Chamber setup: 3 Chamber BrewPi I'll probably be writing an Instructable on this since most of the "multiple chamber" stuff is a bit dated. I'm also considering hosting an...

    How To: BrewPi LCD Add-On

You're right, it's gotten pretty long and I had to weed out stuff like bits about the rotary encoder which I'm not using, and other sections so I must have missed where that was covered. Also, here is the completed system: 3 Chamber BrewPi THANK YOU SO MUCH! I couldn't have done it without...

    How To: BrewPi LCD Add-On

The one I originally followed was from the OP at the very first post. Just not sure why that wasn't working for me. EDIT: The original schematic is wrong as far as I can tell! Pins 10 and 15 of the shift register are swapped in the original post diagram and in the photo of the breadboard in...

    How To: BrewPi LCD Add-On

Alright, finally! :rockin: I breathed a huge sigh of relief after it finally popped up on the screen. Here's the thing though... I used the schematic from a different thread and it worked the first time. Can anyone tell me why in the world it would work with this schematic and not with the...

    How To: BrewPi LCD Add-On

I suppose that's true... but, I have two boards wired now... both with the exact same issue. You're right though, it may be easiest just to use a monitor near the 3 chambers as a sort of control center. (This will be the pilot system for a larger 10 BBL brewery eventually.) I can't help but...

    How To: BrewPi LCD Add-On

No, the pot works, twisted it back and forth and the white blocks get visible and then disappear. I also changed it every time I checked a connection, still nothing. Here are the photos, looks like 2 different manufacturers even though I ordered them at the same time. Thanks in advance for...

    How To: BrewPi LCD Add-On

So that's probably a difficult question to answer but I swear I followed these directions to the letter and all I get is white blocks on lines 1 and 2 of the LCD. (Which I assume to mean it's getting power but no signal.) I built the protoshield twice, once usibg the schematic and assembled...

    Hop Blossom Competition Results?

Just saw this reply Tim. Thanks for taking the time to do that. I understand that it's difficult to run these competitions and volunteers are probably in short supply sometimes. Thanks for taking it into consideration and hope to be there again next year. Sent from my iPhone using Home Brew
