    Still tasting sugar after bottling

Quick question. I brewed a summer ale and its been bottled now for a week and a half. I cracked open a test bottle to get a feel for its carbonation and can still taste sugar. I know it's still early but this is the first time I've tasted sugar after bottling out of my 6 different brews. I did...

    Just curious about ABV

If the ABV seems just a bit to high, what's the best way to lower it by 1 maybe 2% abv when the brew is at the bottling bucket stage to get just a bit more flavor? Just curious. Thanks for any tips

    My Holiday Brew

Hi, I brewed my first holiday brew last night. Its an Amber brew. The receipt said to add the 1 lb of honey to the beginning of the 45 minute boil, but the guy that helped me at the brew store said to add the 1lb of honey at flame out instead for flavor, so that's what I did and the OG is higher...

    Secondary Fermenting

Hi, just a question. Is secondary fermenting necessary for a blonde ale I got in the primary fermenting carboy right now? The primary fermenting has slowed down, but was just wondering about the secondary fermenting. Thanks

    Straining the slug

Since I forgot to strain my brew while adding it to the fermenting carboy, will this effect the outcome of the fermentation and taste? I will be straining it when I add the brew to the secondary fermenting bucket. Any help is appreciated. Thanks. Wes
