    Kegerator in attic?

I have a tiny house, but I am sick of bottling. I could fit a chest freezer in the attic (assuming I could get it up there) and maybe run the lines down in a wall to a counter top and put in 2-3 taps? Is this a good or bad idea? If it is a good idea, does anyone have any advice or problems...

Bananas Foster Creamy Ale (All Grain) **pic intensive**

Just an FYI, I made a variation of this and it was good, but it had an off flavor that tasted like rubber. I meant to dump the rest of the bottles out but I didn't and it sat for 6 months. I opened one last week and it tasted like amazing. No rubbery taste. Anybody have a clue makes a rubbery...

    Wyeast 3711 Starter Question

Yep, ready. I would skip the airlock as well. By the way 3711 is a beast. Look for a 1.002 FG

Wanted:Decadent Dark Chocolate Ale Recipe (Atwater Block Brewery)

SWMBO and myself really love this beer. The chocolate is fantastic but it is still a nice light ale. I want to try to brew this and tweak it but I have no clue where to start. Is anybody able to get me started? Thanks :rockin:

    BJCP Competition Results

Back to the original post, it would be helpful to know the other entries score. I just got the results of my first competition today... a 35 for a Belgian (18). I didn't place so I don't know how I did among the pack of the 25 others. It would be helpful to me... especially if I was 25th or 4th...

    Free beer software?

Yes, exactly my point. Why would I spend money when Hopville, Brewers Friend, and Brew Target all work well and are designed better and updated more often.

    Free beer software?

I want to buy a piece of software, but until I see a company updating their product at least 4 times per year I won't bother. So many of my friends bought Promash, never to see an update again. Most of the interfaces remind me of mid 1990's software too. As soon as I see something modern...

    Beersmith on a Chromebook

You can go to the chrome store to see what is available on a chromebook. https://chrome.google.com/webstore/ Nothing for brewing on there yet. BTW, the ASUS EEE runs Android, not ChromeOS. There are brew apps on Android, just not for ChromeOS... but I think there will be an integration soon.

Cheap & Easy 10 Gallon Rubbermaid MLT Conversion

Thanks for the reply. I don't jump up to vorlauf at 60 minutes, but I never thought of letting it go longer than 90-120 minutes or so. I have drained the MT and then boiled the next day. One day if it's convenient I might try a longer mash.

Cheap & Easy 10 Gallon Rubbermaid MLT Conversion

OKay this is off topic, but why do you mash overnight? What temp do you start at/end at? What kind of beers do you do this with?

Cheap & Easy 10 Gallon Rubbermaid MLT Conversion

After doing more research we (my brother and I) decided we want to do 15g batches. For some of our grain bills this might reach 50#s! I guess the igloo is out of question. We need a big rectangular or something else. Any good suggestions?

Cheap & Easy 10 Gallon Rubbermaid MLT Conversion

Wilserbrewer, I currently have a MT I made from my old beach cooler and some hardware. I use Denny's method often. I would recommend it to anybody. My set up works well but it is getting old and was never that efficient. I am also trying to upgrade to 10 or even 15 gallon batches. So I think I...

Cheap & Easy 10 Gallon Rubbermaid MLT Conversion

I was thinking of doing this but my friend says "to do it right" I need an industrial 10 gallon igloo ($50-$60) and a nice false bottom (~$50) plus another ~$50 in hardware to plumb it. That puts me at ~$150. I can buy one from my LHBS assembled for $160. What do you guys think?
