    Vacuum sealing hops

You should check and see if that type of food saver works for the mason jar attachment. 1 quart mason jars work well with a pound of hops and they are infinitely reusable

Question on diptube with recirculation on boil keggle

This is what I use. Found a big stainless steel mesh tea ball at the Asian market and I put a worm clamp on my diptube that's angled about 45 degrees. I just had to bend the edge of the ball to fit around the dip tube and it clamps into place nicely. http://i.imgur.com/AdBhT6Vh.jpg

    Important Statement From Midwest Supplies

The difference in your experience and ours is that they only got your card number and expiration date if it happened at a POS machine. We had plenty more information stolen. They got our addresses, phone numbers, cc numbers, expiration dates, and security codes. They've got our home addresses...

    Midwest Supplies

Speculation by Midwest Supplies customers was discussed in a now closed thread about the possibility that the Midwest Supplies website was hacked and many customers had fraudulent charges against their account (myself included). Turns out, their website was hacked on 6/13 and was discovered on...

    Midwest Supplies

If you haven't read the entire thread and the people's stories about their individual cases of fraud, why are you the loudest voice to say that it's mere coincidence? Nobody has claimed that they have proven that its Midwest nor has anyone said that they want something in return for the company...

    Midwest Supplies

I like Midwest. They're my sole online homebrew supplier and continue to be. That doesn't change the fact that out of my entire circle of friends who shop online on a regular basis, only two have had their credit card information compromised: the two home brewers who shop at Midwest. Both of us...

    Midwest Supplies

Just read through the whole thread and thought I could add to the information here. I got a call Monday morning from Golf Galaxy saying they caught the sale and had it canceled. California IP address with the goods shipped to Delaware. They said the person ordering had my billing information...

    Midwest Supplies

Mine were all the second to the fifth as well. Was your first charge for like $1 or something really small at Payroll, Apple, iTunes, or SWTOR.com?

    Midwest Supplies

Not saying Midwest is the source but my card was also compromised and I had the information saved on the Midwest site. Started with a $1 charge for Star Wars The Old Republic online game and then two $39.99 charges from the same place. Then Meijer.com, shopatron.com and golfgalaxy.com. Golf...

    Brewing Kettle

A few routes you can take depending on how you want to go forward in this hobby. You can go 7.5-10 gallon and use it on your stove top with partial boils for the time being and leave that open for use in future endeavors in full boils, all grain, or BIAB. Or you can get a simple 5-6 gallon...

    Festbier BierMuncher's OktoberFAST Ale (AG)

Carbing this up now. Came out great. Some of my BMC friends even enjoyed it. I'll definitely be making it again

Thoughts on storing bulk crushed grain

I use home buckets lined with Reynolds Turkey bags. Perfect fit. Mine aren't crushed though

Blonde Ale Centennial Blonde (Simple 4% All Grain, 5 & 10 Gall)

    Can you describe the taste?

Blonde Ale Centennial Blonde (Simple 4% All Grain, 5 & 10 Gall)

Has anyone experienced a slight sour taste on the front end of this? I brewed this two weeks ago yesterday, sat in primary for 8 days, cold crashed, kegged and carbed. Started tasting after about 11 days and there was a distinct sour taste to it. I haven't ever tasted a homebrew that young...

    Bottling from a never-tapped keg?

That's assuming you've already force carbed the keg

    Bottling from a never-tapped keg?

I bottled from a keg for the first time yesterday and it wasn't nearly as much of a pain as I imagined. I made a (counter pressure?) bottle filler out of a racking cane, a picnic tap, and the rubber airlock stopper for a fermenting bucket (you can use a drilled stopper too). There's a build...

    General Concentrate Wine

That may be the case. This was just a tester and I wouldn't mind tossing it if it doesn't come out right. In the cranberry strawberry batch, I used one concentrate and one 64 oz container of juice. It's only been 2 or 3 weeks so I'm going to let it finish up and see if the flavors blend a bit better

    General Concentrate Wine

One batch is grape concentrate mixed with cranberry strawberry juice and the other is grape concentrate mixed with raspberry lemonade

    General Concentrate Wine

About three weeks ago I started 2 1-gallon batches of various flavors. Yesterday I decided to do a gravity reading out of curiosity and tasted the sample. Dear lord... I will not even look at these again for a month. Tasted like strawberry flavored rubbing alcohol. I'm sure the flavors will...
