    HELP: Potato wine issue.....

I really recommend it! Though I have just thrown away about 4 hours of hard work and £13 worth of potatoes. That said I would rather I hadn't spent 12 months making a 10 gal batch that would have made people ill. I treated it like food that it is. I should have added the sugar and water straight...

    HELP: Potato wine issue.....

Hi All, I made 1 gallon of potato wine a few years back and it tasted gorgeous. So basically doing a 10 gallon batch. The thing is I have grated, cooked and squeezed all the potato through muslin cloth. The thing is it was late at night when I finished so left the result over night in buckets...

    Screw caps

Has anyone got any advice on whether screw top bottles are any good for storing your wine once made? If you can use screw tops how long would the wine last for? Thanks for your answers.

Making Traditional rice Wine. Cheap, Fun, and Different

Hi folks, I've made some rice wine for the first time and it is currently filtering out. Three days filtering and all my sediment is 2cm deep at the bottom of the bucket so all going well. Knowing your exact ABV....

Thanks for this. I haven't tried this way before but I can see how easy it would be now to find it from anything I add extra sugar to during fermentation. Thank you.

    Knowing your exact ABV....

Hi all, I have been making wine now for a year and a bit and am really seeing the benefits ;-) I get a lot of enjoyment out of knowing what the ABV of my wine is. The question I have is that when I make a wine that involve Sultanas or Raisins I don't always feel that I know exactly the ABV of my...

First timer and my wine seems a little watered down...

4lb per gallon is what you needed. Kiwi is quite flavourless too. I just made mine with strawberries but adding the Kiwis wouldn't have made much difference in flavour. Definitely usenext time 4lb per gallon. So 12lb for a three gallon batch. That's why strawberry wine is quite an expensive wine...

First timer and my wine seems a little watered down...

I made some strawberry wine this summer gone. I must definitely say it was lovely and do intend this summer to spend more on fruit and make more of it :-) I used 4lb of fruit in my recipe and crushed the strawberries with a potato masher to a pulp to get all the flavour out. There will not be a...
