    Large Volume Brewing (27+ Gal)

Great advice, I think temp control is still my biggest challenge with large volumes. You alls advice is helpful. Confirms some of what I'm doing and reinforces what I need to do better.

    Large Volume Brewing (27+ Gal)

Does anyone have some experience on brewing batches of 27-gallons or larger? I've brewed two test batches at larger volumes and it feels like I'm getting it mostly right but could use some advice. I'm not looking for mega volume (or micro brew) scales at 1-bbl or larger but kind of the "in...

    Sanke to HB conversion

Guess I'm also looking for opinions on how to buy one too. The deposit route or the purchase on ebay or craigslist route.

    Sanke to HB conversion

Anyone have some practical advice or a link to some thoughts already in the forums (believe me I have searched and can't find much), or maybe someone whose used them to tell me this it is impossible/impracticable or works well after a bunch of uses in kegging using Sanke's. 1). I've found...

    Temp controller on ebay

The wiring on the STC-1000 is a bit complicated and the directions provided are usually in Chinese and/or make little sense. Fortunately there are several online .pdf's that show you what each "function" selection does (F1-F5 usually but some go F1-F9). There are a few forum "how to's" but...

    New Brewer from Colorado

By the way, when you visit your local homebrew shop (LHBS) look for any of their small books on brewing, read it carefully then relax and brew some of the best beer you have ever tasted. Ask questions frequently and don't worry about sounding stupid, there's a beginners section with stickies...

    New Brewer from Colorado

Awesome! From the Big "C" huh! When I lived in CO I would get mountain water and boil it. The water from El Dorado canyon is excellent for brewing (the city water killed a few batches because it has/had a lot of chlorine). Visit the AHA HQ in Boulder and say hi to Chuck Papazian! Welcome to...

    Hi all, just started

Relax, don't worry and have a homebrew. Honestly... relax and just take it easy. Don't throw anything out and as you try to be a perfectionist, forgive yourself when you make small mistakes: 98% of the mistakes are drinkable!

How's this AG Citra/Amarillo Pale Ale looking

Are you making a yeast starter? Smack pack? Dry yeast? I tend to agree with tgmartin, the lower IBU would make it a bit mild for my tastes.

    Filtering Hops in Blichmann Boilermaker

Take a look at the hop screens people have reviewed here. I just reviewed a dry hop screen, but my boil hop screen is in the same pic. I use blichmann ss and with a mesh screen the ball valves don't clog when I use the screen and a false bottom on the Mash. Lots of reviews on the therminator...

    Dry Hop Tube Screen

Had a few questions sent to me which I should answered in my first message. The dimensions are 24" X 1" and the cost I'm not sure of, he sent me a prototype and I need to send him feedback. I am guessing like $25 based on his other stuff.

    Dry Hop Tube Screen

I bought a hop screen a while back from a guy on EBay who makes drain and oil screens and recently got into hop screens (see links below). I like the hop screen, he can make 300 or 400 micron thickness (someone else reviewed them here on HBT). Anyway, I hate the mess and wort/beer loss as my...
