    Under electric pots?

Thanks Deece! Those drip pans are perfect, that's going to work slick.

    Under electric pots?

I use those round cork things as well, and they hold up great. What I've really been looking for though is some sort of a shallow pan or tray that they can sit in to contain minor spills/overflows. Anyone ever find anything like that?

Wall surface advice for my electric brewery?

Hi all, I'm finally ready to put together my basement electric brewery and I'm starting with the walls. I have a young daughter and another on the way so I don't want to do anything time consuming like tile, I just want to throw up a wipeable water resistant surface. I am right now thinking...

    Work Cooling Temperature Before Transfer

I've been having the same issues this summer, and have been moving my carboys to the freezer around 80 degrees or a little more. My trouble has been that the freezer will fire up to cool the fermenter and by the time the wort temp hits 65 the freezer walls are ice cold, and it ends up...

Why spend $$ on custom BIAB bag?

Here's my bag in action looking like a big ole nutsack full of 16.75 lbs of IIPA grain

Why spend $$ on custom BIAB bag?

I ordered one from http://www.bagbrewer.com and the guy made it to perfectly fit my specific 10g pot and had it to me in three days. That was well worth $35 to me. I have used it 10 times so far and it is perfect. I have brewed an IIPA with 16.25 pounds of grain in it, and an Imperial Stout...

    Edwort's Apfelwein OG?

Yeah I guess I was thinking apple juice was apple juice, but I suppose depending on the apples used to make it it could have varied sugar content

Moving carboy from fermentation chamber after 1 week?

Yeah I think you might even end up with a lower FG by slowly warming it a few degrees

adding yeast nutrient and Whirfloc - Timing

I think that's right, the boil time is to sanitize. Right at flame out is probably ok, the wort is still hot. Just a little riskier

    Starsan mishap

I'm going to go against the flow and say you're doomed. Not because of the starsan though, more because of the environment, and overpopulation, and outsourcing, and BMC dominance and things like that

    Kegerator Conversion with Danby DAR440BL?

I bought my first one from Walmart in May for $179 and then they were sold out for a while, but then I bought a second matching one for bottled beer a few weeks ago which they delivered to my house for free. Looks like they are out again, but you can sign up to get an email when they are back...

Looks sweet man! I like the creative setup

A big "ahoj" and a small question from the Czech Rep.

control your ferm temps, don't believe the generic kit instructions, join a club, make a yeast starter for big beers, and control your fermentation temps again

Long term bottle storage from force carbonated beer

sounds pretty dangerous to me, its going to be hard to keep away the oxygen and keep everything clean enough to go through all the trouble to carb and rebottle. And the longer you store it the more risky it becomes. I opened up a batch of barley wine once and dropped in carb tablets, and the...

    Need a little advice!

You didn't say yet if you added sugar to the brew? That can add a cider flavor when you overdo it, and I can't imagine how you would get to a 1.000 FG gravity without a bunch of sugar, even a saison won't attenuate that much. Also, previous posters are right, a room temp of 70 is too high for...

if 90% are extract brewing. why the sudden rush to all grain ?

I do it all, keg, bottle, extract, and all grain. I love brewing all grain outside, but it does take more time and effort. My system is simple extract kits when I have 3 hours on a weekday to keep the pipeline flowing, and then when I can spend a weekend day outside I brew a unique all grain...

    Kegerator Conversion with Danby DAR440BL?

Here's a look at what it looks like with two on tap at once. It's a tight fit, but it works great.
