Search around for swamp cooler. It's similar to your idea but I think they toss 2L soda bottles filled with frozen water into the tub to cool it further. Just keep a rotation going as they melt to maintain a steady temperature.

I should have mentioned this as well. The paste is made with vodka and corn starch and spread across the top. The parts where it drys first are where your coolant lines are.

If you did pitch dead yeast then I believe it does nothing but become neuts for the next pitch you'll do. I don't believe you have to do anything extra to the wort before repitching.

I might be blind but I keep seeing people saying to use 10' (or 6') of hose minimum from the keg to the tap and I've never seen a reason given for that. What is the reason and where do I buy more tubing (can I just buy vinyl tubing from lowe's?)?
