I entered this (original recipe) in the Dixie Cup homebrew competion. The good news is I got 2 scores of 42 (out of 50, BJCP guidelines)!! The bad news is it didn't place LOL. Stiff competition!

I have a 10 gallon economy SS brewpot from Austin Homebrew. Yesterday, luckily before I had a pot full of wort, I noticed that the one handle had broken. It didn't break at the rivets but actually right above there where it transitions from flattened to the tubular handle as well as bends a bit...

I dry hop in keg. Force carbonate by cranking up pressure a couple days, do not shake. I put the hops in a sanitized mesh bag with some sanitized marbles. This brings it down to the pick up tube and gives my beers a unique taste that a lot of people really enjoy (most of all me)

I was in a Natural Grocery today picking up some coca nibs and I noticed that they had flaked barley and oats for better prices than the local homebrew store. Logic tells me that barley and oats is barley and oats but I wanted to verify there is no difference. AHS' pages make this note...

Picking up a keg this weekend to make a boil kettle. Looking around at drain valves, they seem reasonable priced but saw the drain tube at bargainfittings and for $13 I'm thinking I can DIY for a lot less. Will a compression fitting work with the standard fitting on the bulkhead fitting? What...

Seems like the shortage of Simcoe is becoming a reality. I'm trying to find a source for some in bulk but a lot of the usual places are out of stock. Anybody know who has some available?

I like pellets because whenever I use whole hops they seem to soak up too much of my beer. I want to drink my beer damnit, not give it to the hops!!

how many pounds of grain does a 5 gallon bucket hold?

I weight a nylon mess bag with marbles, add hops and dry hop in the keg. This drops it down to the pickup tube. Definitely gives it a unique hop aroma and flavor

cleaning my cornie kegs in the tub has gotten black "skidmarks" all over the tub bottom. GF is having a helluva time getting them off. Anyone have any tips? This is a textured plastic tub bottom
