    High FG!!

Hi all. I brewed a simple pale ale last Saturday and due to having small children I lost concentration and mashed my grain way too high! I was aiming for 67*C and hit more like 71*C. I'm aware that this is not good. I checked my FG an it was at 1.020 from 1.038. My desired target is 1.008. Is...

    Washed yeast question...

The one on the left is S-05 but the one on the right is 3rd generation of wyeast 1028 London ale yeast. This is the 1st time I have ended up with this much yeast.

    Washed yeast question...

Hi all. I have recently got into washing yeast, but as I only had two mason jars left I decided I would only start with half a gallon of pre boiled water. Anyway I have ended up with a lot more settled out yeast in the bottom compared to other yeast I have washed. Anyway would it be ok to...

    homebrew pride

Congrats! I also got in deep very early on and I love the hobby. I also have had friends ask me to brew for them. I don't know if I should or not. I might be wrong but in my understanding, as long as the yeast is added by the person who will consume it, then it's not illegal to brew for others...

    Scary proposition

    I like your thinking :)

    Scary proposition

I'm not too sure, but I am sure all will be legal as the owner won't want to loose his licence. I'll have to find out.

    Scary proposition

I live just outside London and my B-I-L lives in London. I wouldn't be quitting my job for this. He owns a pub so it already has a licence to sell beer.

    Scary proposition

It's knowing that the beer will be sold to paying customers that scares us. The owner has given us until Christmas to brew a beer that is ready for sale, in the mean time we can play around with the equipment and do some test batches.

    Scary proposition

I know it's not big but its still 4 times what I do at home. He is a good brewer but he has only been doing all grain for about a year, and me only 3 months. I think he wants someone to share the responsibility with.

    Scary proposition

So my B-I-L has just told me that he has been offered to become a part time brewer in a pub in London. The owner is going to buy everything he needs to brew on a 100 litre system. He ahead asked me if I want to be his brewing partner but I don't think I'm at a level to brew for a pub espically...
