You know you're a home brewer when?

I know this post is from page 3 but it is so true. To make things worse, I work in a hardware store and spend a considerable amount of time checking to see what I coul possibly incorporate or order in as new stock that might be brewing related. I guess my boss is working toward the right...

Worst things you could ever say to/around a homebrewer!

Co-worker hit me with this last time I went drinking with him: "why don't you drink a man's beer like Coors?" As I'm drinking a Kettlehouse Cold Smoke that he can't handle drinking because it's "too much flavor for beer". Got a real kick out of that.

    So who's brewing this weekend?

Brewing up 2 this weekend. A clone of Mirror Pond, and an IPA with either the fresh cascade hops from a co-worker, or with some New Zealand Rakau and Pacific gem. If I do the NZ IPA, I'll probably do it as an IIPA. It'll also be my first attempts at BIAB and 2.5 gallon brewing. Have only done 5...

    Colander

Here's what I'm going to do Friday for my BIAB, I have a strainer type basket that fits inside the kettle(turkey fryer basket/colander.) my grain bag will go in there through the whole mashing process and then to drain so I won't have to hold it, a round grilling grate from a weber kettle grill...

What is it with spouses and brewing in the kitchen?

My fiancée hates the smell of brewing, but with Montana winter coming on, she's going to be THRILLED when I brew inside on the stove instead of outside. In an apartment, so doing it in a garage isn't an option.

    Holiday Ale Ingredient Suggestions

One thing I've been toying the idea of is doing a Christmas ale that has Chai Latte flavors. Mostly for my SO, but chai just tastes like winter to me.

    Need Cascade recipes.

Good to know. Deschutes is a great brewery but not as popular as it should be in Missoula since we have so many breweries within 2 hours of here.

    Need Cascade recipes.

I know I haven't been on here much, but wanted to see what all grain recipes you guys have collected using only cascade hops. A co-worker harvested a full pound for me, and I'm trying to figure out what to do. Figure the best way would some cascade only pale ales and CPAs.

Looking for Big Sky Summer Honey Recipe

I'm looking for Big Sky Brewing's Summer Honey recipe. From what I've read it is a Honey Blonde Ale, and it's my cousin's favorite beer and I would like to brew a batch for her wedding. Anyone have a recipe or something close?

    Farmhouse Saison Dry Hop question

Except I thought you were sending those to me dad! Having them in the Belgian bottles should be really cool though.

New wort chiller - can't close the pot lid

If you are concerned about stuff falling in, have the lid on as much as possible with the chiller in. I throw the lid on part way right as I pull from heat. I end up covering about 80% of the pot with the chiller sticking out.

    What are you drinking now?

Bayern's St. Wilbur Weizen. Really good local brew with minimal hints of citrus. Kinda want the recipe.

    Aftertaste in brews

Sounds to me like it may be the bucket. I've only used glass carboys for fermentation, so I haven't had that issue at all. I don't think it is your water. Arrowhead tastes good. I use the $0.88 a gallon spring water from Wally-world and there isn't any plastic taste.
