Starting my first ejectric build soon

Wow, that was a long time ago [emoji15]. My setup has changed dramatically since then, but I still use a bag. After a couple cheaper bags, I ended up using brewinabag.com and highly recommend his bags. I actually had him make me a custom bag for my current 2 vessel system

Taplist.IO Free Digital Web Based Tap List

For those interested in a Raspberry Pi setup, I set it up using the FullPageOS distribution (https://github.com/guysoft/FullPageOS) to display a single webpage in full screen. Downloaded http://docstech.net/FullPageOS/2016-07-20_2016-05-27-fullpageos-jessie-lite-0.7.0.zip, unziped, burned image...

    Cheap Digital Tap List?

Thanks for link! This seems to be exactly what I was looking for, and Mike has been very prompt in answering questions and seems very accepting of feedback. I've got a Fire TV stick but my main platform will still be a raspberry pi - but really it seems that any platform which can automatically...

    Sanitize Cold-Brewed Coffee?

I don't bottle but I make my own cold brew coffee and add the concentrate straight into the keg before racking the beer into it. I suspect you could do the same thing in the bottling bucket prior to bottling. I figure there is enough alcohol in the beer prior to kegging that I'm not worried...

    Full-boil benefits with BIAB?

I started with BIAB and after some research decided to go with a 20 gallon SS pot, figuring I would eventually do 10 gallon batches. Glad I did, but got real tired of lifting the grain in those big batches so I moved to a two vessel system where I BIAB in one and then pump the wort into another...

    What's in your fermenter(s)?

10 gallons of Imperial Belgium Stout and 10 gallons of a lighter Belgium using the 2nd runnings of the stout.

Chugger pump mounting bracket separated from weld

I ended up mounting a piece of strut and using a 3" pipe strap which kept it solid. http://m.homedepot.com/p/Superstrut-3-in-Pipe-Strap-Z702-3EG-10/100343311

    Using coffee in beer

I cold brew and add it to the keg just before racking the beer into it. Super easy and great flavor.

    Back to BIAB!

I try not to think about it [emoji15] ... I've upgraded over time (and still doing so), but probably have around $1500 invested. I enjoy the projects and most upgrades have been to just make the brewing day more relaxing, not necessarily better beer. I'll typically brew 20 gallons during a 6-7...

    Back to BIAB!

I started out doing 10g biab brews and have moved to a two vessel no-sparge with a single pump. For me, I just like the simplicity of doing no-sparge brews. I'm all electric with a boil kettle and Rims for the mash kettle. I do 10-15 gallon batches now. I moved to a two vessel primarily because...

High FG - All-Grain Brown Ale

I use 60L speidels for 10-15 gallon batches and just recently started to use oxygen thru a stone to aerate. Prior to this I just sloshed it and could only get FG down to around 1.020, with oxygen I've now been getting it down to about 1.010.

DIY glycol chilled plastic conical fermenters

I have issues with air bubbles when pumping hot wort, so in my pump setup I simply have added an extra valve that I use to drain the air bubbles out... Works good for me.

Electric brewery plans - need help

In general, breakers are meant to protect the wires from overheating and causing fire/damage. You need to make sure the wire is adequately protected by an fuse or breaker based on its rating. If I switch to a smaller wire size after a breaker, I'll protect it with a fuse.

    Countertop Brutus 20

I and other Brewers I know use Chugger pumps and we have all had great luck with them.

Why do large (10+ gallon) batches?

I only keg and regularly brew 10 gallons for the following reasons: - Since I only keg, not that much more time or effort between 5 and 10 gallons. Feels like a better use of my brewing time. - I brew beer to share, so it's just not me drinking it. - I like to have multiple types of beers on...

DIY glycol chilled plastic conical fermenters

This is why all my connections to the glycol chiller are outside the fermentor ... Because I didn't trust the connections well enough to be on the inside - nor do I think I'd notice a very slow leak if it happened on the inside. Sent from my iPhone using Home Brew

    100% Stainless Heating Element

Just make a special 240v plug adapter that just wires the 120v 2000w element to one of the hot wires, plus ground and neutral. I'm assuming your 240v outlet has two hot, one ground and one neutral like mine does. That's basically how I wire my 120v pump. Sent from my iPhone using Home Brew

    Speidel Fermenter Airlock Issue

I had the same problem with one of my 60L's ... Apparently I didn't seal the lid completely and had no airlock activity. Now I always slowly squeeze the sides a little after I put the airlock on to make sure I see activity. Sent from my iPhone using Home Brew
