Forced air fridge conversion instead of chill plate?

Tired of my chill plate modified kegerator box, it it possible to dismantle any types of old fridges to grab the cooling unit and use it? I'm assuming this is rather difficult as I don't recall seeing anyone doing this off the top of my head.

Chill plate freezing, why and what to do?

The chill plate in my expanded kegerator is a block of ice. Is this from running too long, box not 100% sealed, both? Only keeping unit at 42F with a stc-1000. What do I do, just unplug for an hour and let it melt into a towel then just plug back in?

8 cases of pop top bottles and swing tops in Ephrata area

Looking to get rid of a ton of bottles as I've been out of the homebrew scene for a few months and was kegging before that anyway. I have 8 cases of assorted pop tops bottles ranging from home brew bottles to dogfish and Sam Adams to assorted misc. most have either no label or a homemade...

Best set points for STC-1000 to minimize cycle times on large fridge?

I expanded the cooling area by nearly 2X on my edgestar kegerator. I can't seem to figure out the best setting to limit compressor cycles and keep the beer at a steady temp. I found out hanging the probe is not the best, kicks on/off when you open the door etc and when the fans on it REALLY...

Kegerator running for hours off for 20-30 minutes

First off I realize I about doubled the size of the kegerator but I've read lots of others doing the same and it seems their cycles are not on 3x off 1x. I double wall insulated the inside with cabinet with 3/4 foil faced foam board from lowes, taped and caulked all joints. I added a fan at...

Perlick 630ss tap part too loose?

Have a few 525's and just purchased some 630's that haven't been hooked up to kegs yet. The top part that screws to a tap handle seem super easy to open and close. When I have a tap handle on I can barely touch it and it rocks open. My 525's don't open and close near this easy and I can't...

Safe to drill top of edgestar kegerator?

Got a few year old edgestar kegerator that. I need to cute a 2.5" hole in the top to move the tower location to fit it under my bar. I'm thinking I'm safe to drill/cut the top as the cooling plate is in the back? Thanks Chris Sent from my iPad using Home Brew

Removing cooling plate from kegerator to cool custom size keg box?

I have a edgestar kegerator a friend gave me but unfortunately it will not hold a tall 1/4 and a cornie. I was thinking of building a custom sized keg box under the bar and line it with insulation foam boards from one of the big box stores. My concern is the cooling plate/compressor will only...

Only one model of Haier kegerator ever?

Been looking on craigslist for a Haier kegerator and finding some really good deals one units a few years old. Are these the same model as the new units? Reason I ask is the Haier is one if the biggest that will fit 3 cornies or 2 tall quarters, but I'd the older ones are smaller...? Sent...

Haier kegerator as big as it gets in the $600 or so price range?

It seems this is one of the largest kegerators in this price range? I would really like to be able to hold a tall 1/4 and 2 sixtels or ball/pin locks but I think this is not possible under $1200 or so. Any other solid kegerators I should look at that can hold at least three cornies? Seems the...

Two sixtels or pin locks fit in a Danby DAR125SLDD?

This seems to be one of the better fridges to convert to a kegerator. Planning on getting two. One to keep a tall 1/4 barrel of ML for guests and the other fridge I would like to use for a mix of my pin lock kegs and local brew house sixtels which I believe are the same size as a pin lock keg...

Keg box build with mini fridge help

Originally I was going to use the below pictured chest freezer and have a tower come out of the top and through the bar. My two options were to make an easily dismountable tower so the whole freezer could slide out from the bar for keg changes or to make the top of the bar hinge open. I...

    Dogfish Sixty-One clone?

LOVE this beer, was able to score a sixtel of it and the guy laughed at me when I asked my chances of snagging a second one after it kicked. Scoured the internet and cant' find a clone, can't be too difficult right, it's 60 minute and some sort of grape additive? Any thoughts on how to go...

How do i put my chest freezer under the bar and have tower?

I'm building an L shaped bar in my basement now and want to have a 7.0cf chest freezer in one end. I'd like to have a tower come out of the bar but I'm not certain how I'm going to do this? My troubles are I'll obviously need to be able to slide the chest freezer out from under the bar(I...

    Taprite T742 not adjusting properly

So I finally hooked up my regulator to a c02 bottle and 2.5 keg and it doesn't seem to adjust properly? I pull the red knob out as it states and it just turn freely either way. Then I have to kinda of click it back in and the gas starts flowing...sometimes the knob stays put and sometimes it...

Help me with LH adapter for regulator!

I want to go from a 1/4" left hand PRI port to a 1/8" fine thread port. I'm trying to add my paintball universal fill adapter to the regulator. I've been to the big box stores which don't carry left hand thread pieces and a local specality store and was shocked they didn't anyting anything...

Taprite regulator; right site connection to co2 removable?

Is the right side of this regulator threaded that I can remove? I'm not talking about just the nut on the end, I mean the entire arm that connects to the body of the regulator. I know a lot of regulators this is threaded but I can't see from this picture. I want to remove the standard c02...

Will this regulator work with my paintball tank?

My original plan was to go with this economy regulator and remove the tank fill gauge as there is one on my universal fill adapter and they don't work super awesome anyway. Want a cheaper regulator as this is going on a protable keg that won't be used often...

Paintball co2 UFA with gauge accurate?

Is it worth getting a universal fill adapter with a gauge on it to see how full the tank is? Are they accurate or doesn't it even matter as a tank will show full one second and empty another with very little middle ground? I'm trying to keep my rig as small as possible so I don't want a...

Fitting two Williams 2.5G kegs in 60/70qt igloo cooler?

So I've been researching building a portable keg cooler for my 2.5G keg(s). Has anyone done with with the Williams chinese 2.5G kegs? They are only 13" tall so I think two would fit in a 60qt but they are 9" compared to a 3G which seem to be 8.5" wide...
