    Yeast Options : Opinions Needed

I have a partial mash kit for a wheat stout from Austin HomeBrew. http://www.austinhomebrew.com/Beer/Stouts/AHS-Wheat-Stout-13E.html#.VM0jbP54qAw I sat on it for too long and now the liquid yeast that I had (White Labs WLP013) is past the BB date and I don't think the the starter took. I...

    Help me make something

So I have an Extract Pumpkin Ale that I ordered from Midwest about a month ago, and I never got around to brewing it. Now that the season is pretty much over, I don't have much interest in the pumpkin (I never really did, but that's another story), so now I have some ingredients and I don't...

    Find my Mistake...

So on bottling day, I always fill 2 PET bottles with my brew so that I can tell when carbonation has occurred. When the PET bottles are rock hard, I know that the CO2 has at least been produced and then it's just a matter of waiting for it to be forced into the liquid. So these were my steps...

10 ways to brew bad beer

Mildly entertaining, but awkwardly written. Sometimes it seems his intention is to brew good beer but he gives bad advice, and sometimes it seems his intention is to brew bad beer .

Stone Cold Lead Pipe Lock'd N00b Advice

Obtain a few screw top plastic bottles and on bottling day, fill em up with the rest of the bottles. When those plastic bottles get rock hard, you know that the rest of your brew is probably getting pretty close to carbed up. Those plastic ones can be your first taste testers too...

Boil Over - Don't Let This Happen To You Home Brewers!

The same thing happened to me when I added the hops to the first batch I ever brewed. Luckily, I had a slightly larger pot, so I was able to get it off the heat before it boiled over. Since it was my first brew, I had no idea hops would do that to the boil. Since then I've poured the hops...

I've only been a here a short time, but I've found several forum titles that when I read I've found myself saying only on this forum could such a title be taken seriously. I've listed two examples below. Chocolate or Infection? Lots of Head Anyone else have any?

    Beginner's dilemma (West Lafayette, IN)

Check out windriverbrew.com as well. I bought their starter kit as well as a couple extract kits and have been very happy with them. Outside of the groupon deal, I don't think you'll find something cheaper.

This is really the only forum in the world where a topic can be "Chocolate or Infection" and it's not spam.

    How to spend 5 weeks

Thanks for the advice. Maybe a better question to ask would be what kind of beer would lend itself to getting in the glass in 5 weeks. My first two batches were dunkleweiss and honeyweiss, so I think I've hit my wheat quota. So it sounds like a pale ale might be one of the quicker beers...

    How to spend 5 weeks

Hi all, I've just started brewing, and I'm working on my pipeline. My original intention was to get a brew ready for a family vacation that we are taking on 7/14. However, after brewing my first batch a few weeks ago, I realized I had time for another, so I have another sitting in my...

Is this Equipment Kit a good deal for $90?

I just bought a basic kit from windriverbrew.com. It included all of the items you have below along with an extract kit with specialty grains. I also bought two cases of 22oz bottles and it cost just over $100. For buying used equipment from a neighbor, I'd expect a better deal.
