    Extract vs Corn Syrup

No, the worst idea ever was when I used sorgham molasses :rockin:

    Brew Pot in Freezer?

I did that with my first brew but figured since its such a simple idea and no one else was doing then it must have some negative effect on the beer. However, that was probably the best brew I've made (it was a wheat)

    First Brew Questions

Ok, so if I fermented my ale at too high a temperature and i end up with the taste of fusel alcohol, is there anything I can do to reduce these flavors in the bottles I am currently maturing?

    Hop Less beer

I'm totally with you man. I had thought about doing that (NOT because I don't like hops) just to see what the result would be. :rockin: Let us know how it turns out

My favorite reply! Thank all you guys, both positive and negative, for your input and perspective. I'll be using my growlers with the batch I have going now. :mug:

    Bottling in Growlers

Exactly what I suspicioned before I ordered them. Wasn't worried about a detonation, but felt maybe the seal was in question. Didn't occur to me that someone would need a case of six jugs to take his own brew away from home. Oh well, back to my 22oz'ers

    Bottling in Growlers

I ordered some growlers with screw caps to bottle part of my latest batch of brew. Another member suggested that growlers are not a good idea for bottling and could explode due to being thin walled. Doesn't make much sense to me so I'm just looking for some advice. Has anyone used these 1/2...

    64oz jugs

Anyone else have anything to add to this? I'm showing my inexperience here. What are the growlers designed for if not bottling finished beer? :mug:

    64oz jugs

Beer doesn't last very long around here. I'd say most of it will be gone within two months, max. Surely the growler will hold a seal that long. I was planning to prime it, of course, before bottling. That isn't going to be a problem is it?

    Grolsch Gaskets

Can you just leave your beer in the fermenter until you get some new gaskets?

    artificial carbonation - overdone

    You have that problem too?

    64oz jugs

I'm going to use 64 oz'ers for the first time to do part of my bottling this time around. I have the metal lids for the jugs and also the plastic lids. How well do these seal, which is the better and how long is the shelf life? :mug:

    Me and Kegged beer

I think the first answer is very insightful. Good call! But, the second one? All in my head? Uh, yeah. I don't know the difference between being slobbering, can't stand up, passing out at the bar drunk, and having just a warm pleasant buzz. Maybe I'll figure that out before I turn 40.

    Me and Kegged beer

When I drink draft beers at the bar, it gets me drunk way bad. I've heard other people are like that too. Needless to say I don't drink draft at all. My question is this: does anyone know why draft beer affects some people in this manner and will I be able to keg my own beer without it having...

    One day fermentation?

well, I'm w/o the possibility of an SG since I put my brand new replacement hydrometer in an absolutely safe place "for right now" then five minutes later knocked it from its "safe place" to its destruction on my kitchen floor. BTW, its sitting at 74degrees and has been since sealing it up. I...

    One day fermentation?

Thursday night I cooked two batches of beer using Muntons extract and maltodextrin. I cooled it to about 74F, measure the OG (1.047), and pitched my Muntons yeast. By the next morning, both batches were bubbling like there was no tomorrow and then, by the following morning within 36 hours of...
