    how to lower water pH

    I have the same problem on my last batch I added 3 gallons of DI water from Walmart for cheap to my Mash water and 1 gallon to my Sparge water. I also threw a handfull of acid malt to my mash and I hit my Mash pH perfect.

    I have some off flavors in some of my beers also. Does it geet better as time goes by? I would guess water pH in the mash Mash if you are doing all grain kits.     Pressurized Mash Tun???

    I have a cylindrical tun. At work we blow out large ion exchange columns with air to empty all the water before placing back on line and i thought it might work the same.

    Mash pH

    Having problems making my mash pH I have tried throwing a handfull of acidulated malt in my mash. My water is from my well 200 ft down and has a 7pH and is a little hard. Has anybody used Buffer 5.2. Some of the reviews dont sound that good just wondering.

    Need Kolsch help.

    I want to make a Kolsch beer and I know you do the primary in the 65 deg. mark. then drop the temp for the secondary. Will this affect my bottling. I don' keg yet so I have to bottle condition.

    Summer BIAB recipe

    Rasbery Wheat is a good one for all poeple. I had a friend come over and try some and he loved it and all he usualy drinks is Corona.

    Can anyone help me with some barley growing?

    I was also thinking about doing this next year. I have about 1/4 acre to plant but i think the hard part will be malting it. I malted some corn and are about to brew with it. Good luck.

    I started brewing all grain and the fun is throwing stuff together and finding out what happens. You can also try a program like Beersmith to help you on what your beer will be like.

    Questions on Lime addition?

    I was thinking of adding lime to a Cream Ale recipie that i am already going to add peppers to. I was thinnking it might be like a Mexican Food Beer? When should I add the lime. Boil off? Secondary? Would it taste to wierd with the Peppers?

    Brew with freshly harvested hops?

    If you plan on storing them they should be dried. I did this with a dehydrator on the lowest setting. Worked great and trasted great.

    Only One Bine

    This is my 2nd year growing hops I put in 4 plants and only 1 gave me hops the 1st year. This year they all look great.
