    White house beer

Great idea to mix it up with something complimentary however it is all in bottles. I think I will simpley need to finish drinking the rest, or possibley use it to cook with, to help me learn my lesson on reading recipes. this was batch 11 out of 12 for me. I have only had 2 botched batches...

    White house beer

 so due to the fact that about 3 pounds of malt was forgot and replaced with 1.5 pounds of brown sugar, as some of you have reported, it tastes just like alcohol. No honey or sweet brown sugar, just the faintest malt and taste of alcohol. Everything was great beyond that in regard to...

    White house beer

I'm the one that misread the recipe and missed 3.3 pounds of malt and substituted it with 1.5 pounds of brown sugar. bottled today and i have no real complaints. the alcohol taste wasn't to bad it was overrun by some serious sweetness from the honey and brown sugar, not much malty taste to it...

    White house beer

Thanks for the feedback brotha. It's bubbling nicely now and tasted good (sweet with a good roasted flavor, i had to use 40l crystal malt btw) before i put in the yeast so hopefully it maintains some of that flavor. I'm going to just let it go and see what happens. Call me hopeful. I will...

SO, fun day here, Trying to make this honey porter and i miss read the recipe (i thought there was only 3.3 pounds of malt, not 2 cans of 3.3 pounds :drunk:) so in a frantic search for a solution i used approximately 1.5 pounds of brown sugar. may be an interesting result. any ideas on what i...

    Chinook Blonde #2

Just tried this recipes with some minor changes (hops used in dry hoping and no grains of paradise). The taste is amazing however i made a blunder, i reduced the recipe to make 2.5 gallons but ended up with 4 gallons so it is very light on the alcohol content (i didn't measure gravity in that i...

    Bottled my first batch!

I found mine at a local brew store 12 for 20$. Grolsch use those bottles as well if you feel like drinking those down. Also, summer citrus wheat in the recipe section (two heads) is awesome. Mine turned out a bit cloudy because I did not rack it but it taste divine.

    Bottled my first batch!

Very cool. I bottled my first last Friday and brewed my second batch that same day. I (naturally) buckled and bought more bottles with the flip tops. So far I have done a citrus wheat (thanks twoheads brewing) and Shillelagh Irish Red (thanks nukebrewer) I want to do an IPA or Stout next...

    Extract for priming?

I just bottled up some wheat beer and primed it with malt extract (dry) that was boiled. I'm curious about the pros and cons this may create. Are there better options?

    Salutations all...

I am just starting to do some home brewing in my little apartment here in Idaho. A cousin of mine has been doing this for a while and has a much better setup and is even going to start growing some hops (about an acre actually) in the future. I wanted to get on HBT to leave responses to...

American Wheat Beer Summer Citrus Wheat

Just bottled up 12 pints of this. Even before this it tasted excellent, like a Blue Moon maybe. They did not have the rice hulls though so I'm not sure what I am missing because of this? any ideas?

    Shillelagh Irish Red

Just got done brewing 2 gallons of this. Since I reduced the recipe some changes were made including yeast being used (Nottingham dry ale yeast). I can let you know in a couple of weeks how she does.
