    Successful brew day!

    Adding flavor during fermentation

    I'm brewing a coffee stout tomorrow. I will be cold brewing the coffee grains then adding the coffee directly to the primary. I was also thinking about adding some pure vanilla extract syrup. Would adding this cause any problems I'm not aware of ?? Thanks in advance for any advice.

    Infected wine

    Alright so what does an infected wine taste like? I tried some of my welches grape concentrate wine and it had a carbonated taste. Like really fizzy in the back of my mouth. Is this infected? I found a little bug in my airlock. Could this have been the cause for the infection?

    Off flavors...

    Today I bottled my first batch, which is an IPA. I taste tested it while taking a gravity reading and noticed a somewhat soapy flavor. Is there something that could've caused this besides the obvious reason of not rinsing the soap or sanitizer good enough??

    should my brew have an odor?
