Half Drunken Rant about Noob Brewing!!!

Take this for what it's worth. I've been drinking nothing but my own Two Hearted clone that I've dubbed Two Faced in keeping with my Batman brewing name of Riddell Me This Brewing (Last name is Riddell) and my citrus wheat. Seriously, if you're panicking about something being wrong...RELAX...

How long to let an imperial/double hefe age?

I understand that hefe's are better fresh but I also know that imperials need to age longer as well. So, where's the middle ground on letting an imperial hefe age?

Little Sumpin Sumpin Extract Clone - BeerSmith

Hey homebrew gurus. I did an attempt at a conversion of the Can You Brew It recipe for Little Sumpin Sumpin. Some of the hops got excluded due to the reduced volume of the batch and the actual boil (I do 3 gallons boils at the moment.) The numbers are pretty damn close with the exception of...

    First Batch - SUCCESS...sorta...

I say sorta cuz, when I picked up the brewing kit at Midwest including the ingredient kit, they didn't crush the grains and I didn't know to ask. So, my irish red ale came out more like irish orange. Heheh. However, 3 weeks in the primary. I crash cooled for the last 5 days and gelatin for...

Norther Brewer Advantageous Weizenbock. Anyone tried it?

I was a HUGE fan of Lagunitas Doppel Weizen. Wondering it this is a similar type or flavor.

Ever find yourself picking a commercial beer based on what kind of bottles you need?

I was trying to decide, yesterday, between Lagunitas Little Sumpin Sumpin and Bell's Two Hearted and went with Lagunitas cuz I needed an extra 6 pack of those bottles when I'm ready to bottle my IPA. Yeah. I'm hooked.

    Stuck fermentaion not stuck anymore!!!

Had my Irish Red extract kit from Midwest get stuck at the dreaded 1.02 mark. After a quick search of the forum, I swirled the tank and put it into a warm water bath and put a heating pad under the water tub. Tank temp it up to 72F and the airlock is bubbling again. Whew. BTW, whoever...

    Garage Sale Burner Score!!!

Just picked this up at a garage sale for $10. Works perfect. Unfortunately, I brewed a batch last night and now both my fermentors are in use for another 2 weeks.

    Newbie's first brew.

Just began fermenting my first home brew. It's an Irish red ale from Midwest Supplies. I'm half in the bag from pounding down a six pack of Bell's Two Hearted during the brewing process, but it's in the swamp cooler for the next two weeks. EXCITED!!!!
