    Question about Fermentors and Bottles/Kegs

Personally I don't think letting things warm up again really does any damage especially to room temperature slowly by just taking them out of the fridge.

    Need some advice...

I don't think it would be a problem as long as you boil the DME. I would cool it down before adding it then just pitch the yeast right away.

    Infamous airlock full of foam...

I wouldn't worry. The CO2 pushing that foam out was keeping anything else that could be bad out too.

    Mash paddle with glue

Like others said, it's made for food, particularly hot food so I don't think you will have any problems.

    How old is too old?

Clean them very well, sanitize very well. As long as there wasn't mold or large bateria harboring scratches you should be fine as long as you are thorough in your cleaning and sanitizing processes.

    Style you will never brew?

I'm not a big fan of Belgian ales. I keep trying to like them but I'm not a big fan and I would probably never drink them and since I don't like them to begin with I'm not sure I would even know if it's "good."

Holy cow! What a learning experience.

Some practice with a regular siphon would help but an autosiphon does make things a lot easier/

    Should I?

It depends on a lot of things if it will be "ready" but it certainly wouldn't hurt to crack one open and try it. Worst case is it isn't ready and you just have to wait which you might do anyway.

    Hand blender to aerate?

I've used a hand blender (with a whisk attachment) to aerate and it's worked well. Make sure to sanitize it well and it should be no problem.

    Propane Tank Gauge

I know it's just anecdotal but the last time I went to the Home Depot to just do a tank swap the tank was nearly empty. It went out before I was done grilling steaks the first time. To their credit they made up for it by giving me a new (full) tank but it was definitely a pain. I was able to...

    Partial Mash Advice Needed

When I do partial mashes of grains I heat the water to 170, put the grains it, get them stirred then wrap my pot in an old comforter. Usually I can keep the temp around 150 even for about an hour doing this.

my O.G. is kinda low any way to up my final abv?

You could add some DME, it could affect flavor making it more malty but would do more than just up the alcohol.

    Mr. Beer Fail

I started with Mr. Beer and was able to get some decent beers out of it. If you have a homebrew store near by maybe pick up some better yeast. That made a big difference in some of the kits I used.

What am I doing wrong with my extract brews?

Give it at least two more weeks before you judge how good a beer it is. I just had a ryePA that I thought was okay, drinkable but definitely not good and had a weird aftertaste. I let a few sit in the fridge for a week waiting until I could get up to my LHBS for the guy there (who's a...

Starting to get bottle bombs. What should I do?

I would definitely drop the temps for a few days. It could prevent more bombs and it could also make them safer to handle.

    basic kits

It has everything you need to brew beer and for it to turn out well. Just be prepared because you're probably going to want to buy more stuff.

    How to add lemon/orange zest

I'm in the process of brewing a Wheat beer and the recipe calls for adding the zest of 2 lemons and 2 oranges. I'm familiar with how to zest citrus fruits but am wondering should I dump the zests straight into the boil or should I put it in a small hop bag to keep the bits out of the wort? I...

Nut Brown Ale and Liberty Hops

As far as I'm concerned you can't go wrong adding a little more hops to a beer.

    Hops on a plane???

There is certainly nothing wrong or illegal about bring hops on an airplane, however I'd be prepared for a major hassle. Hops look like drugs and have a pungent smell that could be reminiscent of drugs to some people. It would probably be worth the money to just ship them to avoid what could...

    Gravity too low

Make sure you mix wort and the added water well. Often the water just sits on top giving you less accurate readings of what's really there.
